Jan 2018 First dog portrait is finished, "By the Pond, Marré"

This oil painting was destined for completion in December 2017 but end of year holiday festivities got in the way. My first dog portrait, our cairn terriers Haggis and Gilly, in front of Haggis’ beloved pond in Marré.  This portrait basically worked from 3 different photos, 1 of Haggis and 1 of Gilly in their character stances and a separate photo I had of the view by the pond in Marré where Haggis loved to bark at the frogs in his youth! The painting is now complete.
