Small-scale original works created as artistic explorations—equine and landscape studies made in the studio, outdoors, and occasionally through my work with the Paard Verzameld international equine art collective. Some are quick notes and others are more resolved compositions and, at times, may lead to larger format paintings.

Small scale original work created as little artistic exploration.

This group brings together different studies developed in the studio or plein air work painted entirely outdoors. What connects them is the same intent: studying light and color as they shift in real conditions or simply playing with different styles. Whether quick notes or more resolved pieces, each one holds onto a moment—how the light felt, how the color shifted, what caught my eye.

This is a newer thread in my studio practice—one I’m excited to keep developing.

Paard Verzameld Storytellers’ Expo Aug 2022

Unique oil paintings created for this very special 2022 Art Event

“Retirement, Relationships & Recreation”, 81 x 165cm oil painting triptyque created for Storytellers’ Expo (Aug 2022).

The triptyque celebrates the tranquil sanctuary of De Paardenkamp and its residents enjoying a new chapter in life as a herd, creating new relationships and enjoying recreation in “older-horse style”.

Paard Verzameld and De Paardenkamp (center for retired horses and ponies, Soest The Netherlands) organized a unique equine art event where members of the Paard Verzameld Collective created artwork telling the stories of the residents of De Paardenkamp.

Available for purchase. Part of proceeds are donated to De Paardenkamp.
