Horses, Art, and the French Riviera. 🐴🎨🌴

Honored to be part of the official partner lineup for the Longines Global Champions Tour of Cannes 2026 (4-6 June) as Artiste Mise à l’Honneur 2026 / Invited Artist.

For the last couple of months I’ve been working on new equine art to be unveiled in Cannes next week. 🎨✨

Art Studio snippets

As a horse owner, amateur show jumper, and artist ... this project feels especially meaningful — where showjumping, Riviera light, and art converge. ✨

During the event, I’ll be there with watercolors and sketchbook in hand 🎨 — capturing small moments of Cannes 🌴 : light, movement, atmosphere, and horses.

I look forward to sharing the new original artwork created especially for the event, presented alongside equine works from my studio archive, brought together for Cannes.

15 April, World Art Day

For my fellow friends and family in the U.S., it is Income Tax Day!

But … it is also World Art Day 😊

 I wanted to share a simple note of gratitude.

Throughout the ages, art has been a form of communication—whether through historical or religious depictions, cultural expression in modern times, or simply the joy people of all ages playing with color and painting the world around us.

For me, art is a way to translate transient moments of life through color, light, and emotion, whatever the subject, often capturing my passion for the equine spirit and form. I may begin with an idea, but at times the painting evolves along a different path, as the colors begin to find their own voice and guide their way onto the canvas.

Overall, whether through creating or viewing art, I believe it brings positive energy into the spaces it inhabits, which feels especially important today in a world full of unease and tension.

Thank you for being part of that journey and for supporting original art.

March - Momentum [News]

March — Momentum

Following on from an early February — marked by receiving a “Mention” at the Salon des Artistes Français (Art Capital) at the Grand Palais — I took a brief week to recharge with family back home in the Philadelphia region.

I was deeply moved — not only by the jury recognition, but also because that painting was selected for the 236th Le Salon des Artistes Français and featured my mare, El Chrispalina, whom we lost in January 2025. The loss is still raw, yet it felt quietly powerful to see her present in that moment in February 2026.

March arrives with the old adage in mind: will it come in like a lion and go out like a lamb — or the reverse? Either way, I’m choosing momentum.

I’m back in Barbizon. The studio is fully in motion.  A new addition to my week is that I’ve returned to the weights / gym — essential for strength and core when you’re ride at my age with mares who have their own ideas in mind 🚀. Everything is moving forward. 🔥

In the Studio — Building Toward June

I am currently deep into development of a large-scale project scheduled for release in June, alongside several new works evolving on the easel while quietly resolving select 2025 works in the studio

This is not a season for constant documentation. It is a season for depth — time alone with my pigments and brushs — refining, pushing, evolving. That focus defines 2026.

End of March — Biennale Versaillaise

At the end of the month, I will be exhibiting in the juries 7th Biennale Versaillaise in Versailles (March 31 – April 5) and honored to present “Versailles à Cheval” inspired by the summer 2024 Olympics with the equestrian events set in the beautiful grounds of Versailles as the backdrop. That setting — horse, architecture, history — still gives me goosebumps.

March is about building—quietly, steadily, and with full focus in the studio.

Summer Colors, Fresh Work and an Invitation [Newsletter]

Hello 👋

Late Spring / Summer has been full of lots of creativity, recognition, and exciting opportunities. I’m delighted to share a glimpse of what’s been happening in the studio and beyond:

🎨 Art inspiration

As I say “Life brings Color, Colors Inspires Art” and the past few months have brought much to my mind as I continue to explore my own art going forward.

The last few months have been full of ART INSPIRATION including a 9-day watercolor art excusion to Skoura, Ouarzazate and Marrekech Morocco with a group of artists led by Patricia Cabillon. It was a very special experience to explore new ways to see light and color via watercolor. I plan to share a full account of this trip with you in upcoming weeks but here is a little photo snip-it.

After the visit to Morocco, the remainder of June was spent on a family trip to the United States 🇺🇸 before returning to France 🇫🇷 in July …. filled with horses shows in Fontainebleau and near Deauville … and art studio time prepping for a VERY BUSY Autumn including artwork scheduled November art events: Galerie Kubota (Tokyo, JAPAN 🇯🇵) organized by Denis Cornet Galerie THUILLIER Paris and the Dutch Equine Art Fair organized by Paard Verzameld at Living Horse Museum Amsterdam 🇳🇱.  

🖼️ New Art

Since my last newsletter, I’ve been busy in the art studio working on new oil paintings and wrapping up several commissions … and completing a few pieces for the 1-week art challenges organized by Paard Verzameld’s International Equine Art Collective that are always a GREAT OPPORTUNITY to explore different styles and techniques to EVOLVE as an artist.

As I like to weave traditional Representational style into Impressionist atmosphere …. I feel there is still a way to go 🎨 .  I’m using opportunities like art exhibitions in Tokyo and Amsterdam to push the creativity out further.    

📣 Stay tuned for a little email in the very near future revealing the two paintings series destined for Tokyo (November 2025).

🏆 Recognition
In the past few months I was honored to receive the PRIX Arts Majestic Galerie Montsûrs at the International Salons des Arts Paris organized by the Académie Européene des Arts-France (May 2025).  I was then delighted to also receive awards from LightSpaceTime International Online Art Competitions in June and July: 10th place Overall/6th Place Painting Category & Special Recognition (“Cityscapes”), and Special Recognition (“Summer”).

📅 Upcoming Show

Galerie 39 Barbizon

The summer also brings my annual solo Equine Art Show at Galerie 39 Barbizon. Last year it was held in July coinciding with the Paris 2024 Olympics. This year, I’m returning to end of summer timeslot falling during the Grande Semaine de Jeune Chevaux Finales CSO at Grand Parquet, Fontainebleau featuring new work. Can’t wait !!

I've developed 'Shop Art' Online Art Boutique on my website … to make this a viable business on which to live, and MORE IMPORTANTLY, to make art available to everybody.

Barbizon Village Magazine Feature

It is an honor to be featured in the Barbizon Village Magazine Jan-Feb 2022 No. 8 celebrating 200 years (1822-2022).  This village, rich in history, is an important feature of my daily life. It has been the home for my competition horses at Ecuries Bost since my return to France in 2015 and, since 2020, the home for my family and my art atelier. 😊

I had a wonderful start to 2022 and am very thankful for the continued support from family, friends, the stables, specifically the team at Ecuries Bost, and the public on my journey as a contemporary artist capturing the natural beauty of horses and of life.

June 2021 Newsletter [English]

Summer has arrived and it is hot! The world is starting to re-open slowly … only time will tell (fingers crossed).

Art events and publications… Since my last art show in February 2021, I have not participated in any shows given scheduling changes due to French confinement 3 in the Spring.  That being said, I had a fun time making a video for an Art PR “Takeover” week on Instagram in April with Beatrice Martini PR Agency (press relations for Salon des Artistes Francais).  I also had a 4 page feature in Bit Magazine May 2021 issue, the largest equestrian magazine serving the Benelux region. I will be sharing that shortly but need to wait until the next issue is released.

What next? Art shows at Galerie 39 Barbizon (23 Aug – 5 Sept) and Saint-Pierre-Les Nemours (27-29 Aug). I am also excited to announce that I have been selected by the Academie Jacques BOITIAT to participate in the 55th Grand Prix de Barbizon scheduled for 9 October 2021. More information to come along with other art events in the pipeline so stay tuned for updates on my website or Instagram/facebook.

Recent awards. …

In April 2021, CovidSkies series (No.1 Barbizon Sunset) was a finalist in the Grey Cube Gallery Online International “Skies” Art Competition and is now in its new home with a very happy client.

New in the atelier …

2 new paintings have been recently completed in the CovidSkies series (“Turning Point” and “2020” both 51x65cm oil paintings). 3 new paintings are due out by the end of June of which 2 are over 1meter so take more time. There are also other exciting paintings in the pipeline, in particular, 2 more in the CovidSkies series and a few commissions

What else?

As a patron member of Paard Verzameld Collective (international gallery dedicated to equine art), I have also been busy participating in a Caravaggio Clair Obscur Masterclass (April) and a couple art challenges (April “Klimt – Patterns”, watercolor pencil drawing; and June “Variations of One” Monochromatic art challenge with an oil sketch on canvas panel). Each challenge is based on an art theme with an equine reference and is completed in one week ….so no time to waste! I also participated in the Bit Magazine Cover Competition, Benelux with an oil sketch on canvas panel for which my piece was one selected to the final list and currently waiting for the results.

[🇫🇷] Le calendrier des événements des expositions d'art étant un peu incertain étant donné les circonstances avec Covid-19, il a été très intéressant d'explorer d'autres avenues. Durant l'été 2020, j'ai eu l'opportunité d'être présenté dans le magazine, « International Thoroughbred ». Maintenant pendant l'automne 2020, je suis un artiste présenté avec mes peintures équins dans le magazine Art & Design, édition n ° 25 de septembre-novembre 2020. Je partage le lien vers le magazine.  [🇺🇸] With the art show event calendar being a bit uncertain given the circumstances with Covid-19, it has been very interesting to explore alternative avenues to showcase my work. During the summer 2020, I had the opportunity to be in International Thoroughbred Magazine. Now during Autumn 2020, it is exciting to have my equine artwork featured in the Art & Design Magazine, Sept-Nov 2020 No. 25 edition. I attach a link to the magazine. International Thoroughbred Magazine (June 2020 issue)

[🇺🇸]  “International Thoroughbred” Magazine, a leading UK & European racing and breeding magazine, published an exclusive Equine Art special digital edition in June 2020.  The magazine is circulated to owners, trainers, bloodstock professionals and enthusiasts. The whole world has going through a difficult period right now and ITB wanted to do something special and colourful. I was so pleased to have been invited for this endeavor featuring leading equestrian artists and sculptures.

[🇫🇷] « International Thoroughbred » Magazine, l'un des principaux magazines de course et d'élevage au Royaume-Uni et en Europe, a publié une édition numérique spéciale exclusive Équine Art en juin 2020. Le magazine est distribué aux propriétaires, formateurs(trices), professionnel(le)s et amateurs passionné(e)s de chevaux pur-sang. Le monde entier traverse actuellement une période difficile et ITB voulait faire une édition spéciale et coloré. J'étais tellement heureuse d'avoir été invitée à cette opportunité mettant en vedette certaines artistes et sculptures équestres.
