Hello from Barbizon !

Apologies for being a little quiet lately.  .. It’s been a bit of a whirlwind with new work, exhibitions, horse shows, art planning and a new arrival, Limone and Co, joining the family.

Here is a little update on upcoming events … and I’ll be sharing more soon about new painting releases and also upcoming publication to hit the streets soon.

In the meantime …. Thank You 😊 to everyone who stopped by Galerie 39 Barbizon. It was a pleasure to see familiar faces, make new acquaintances and meet new collectors, with several pieces now in their new homes. A portion of the exhibition sales was donated to the Fondation du Patrimoine – Sauvons la forêt de Fontainebleau🌳to support a place that continues to inspire so much of my work.

LGCT Cannes 2026 [Artist Recap]

LGCT Cannes 2026 has come and gone - great memories 🎨🐴🌴

It was such an honor to be the Invited Artist & Official Event Partner for the Longines Global Champions Tour de Cannes 2026 — creating original oil paintings for the three CSI2* winner’s prizes, exhibiting artwork across the VIP Espaces and Show Office, and capturing moments around the venue through quick ink sketches and watercolor studies.

And yes — doing it all with a new hat from my favorite hat shop in Barbizon, ArteMilanrio. Thank you, Rolando!

New Cannes-themed painting series

The new original painting series created for the event brought together the energy of international showjumping with the color, movement, and atmosphere of the French Riviera.

Each painting was created to hold a particular sense of movement and presence through Riviera colors. The most challenging element, as a colorist, was how to describe the horse without knowing what color horse the winner would be. I wanted something memorable — using color to suggest any horse, while the Bay of Cannes served as the common thread across all three paintings.

It was a privilege to see the works presented to the winning horse-and-rider combinations and to share this collaboration with the international LGCT community.

The level of sport was extraordinary. Watching the riders and horses move through the arena also reinforced what I wanted the paintings to hold: energy, light, and movement.

… And around the venue…

Beyond the winner’s prizes, it was very special to exhibit a broader selection of my original artwork across the VIP Espaces and Show Office. Seeing my horses on canvas placed throughout the venue created a dialogue between the paintings, the event, and the live atmosphere of international competition.

Art in Motion

I also loved the spontaneous side of the week — sketchbook in hand, moving through the venue, observing the horses, riders, atmosphere, and light. Those quick ink sketches and watercolor studies became another way of responding directly to the event as it unfolded.

So what else?

📣 I plan to release a fourth and final oil painting from the Cannes series. Because this piece was created to remain with me, I chose to hold it back until LGCT Cannes was finished. More soon.

We are now LIVE from LGCT Cannes 2026 🎨🐴🌴

The Longines Global Champions Tour de Cannes is now underway, and I’m delighted to be here as Artiste mise à l’honneur 2026 / Invited Artist & Official Event Partners for the 2026 Edition.

After several intense months in the studio, the new original artwork created especially for Cannes has now arrived at the event — with the full reveal still to come — to be shown alongside a selected group of original equine paintings from my studio, brought together for this occasion.

My artwork is located around the event including the Espace VIP Riders, Espace VIP Sponsors, and Show Office. 🖼️

I’am also moving around the showgrounds including the visitor village and paddock with watercolors and sketchbook in hand, capturing small moments of Cannes — horses, light, movement, and the atmosphere of the show.🎨

As an artist, horse owner, and amateur showjumper, it means so much to be part of this amazing event bringing together my two passions (art and horses) on the French Riveria atmosphere and light.

April - Spring in Motion [News]

April — Spring in Motion

April opened in Versailles at the Biennale Versaillaise, where I exhibited ‘Versailles à Cheval ‘— in the very town that hosted the Paris 2024 Olympic equestrian events and loved catching up with fellow artists and collectors at Carré de la Farine.

Received the official Certificate of Distinction ‘Mention’ issued by the jury of Salon des Artistes Francais at Art Capital, held in the Grand Palais Paris (Feb 2026). What an honour to be selected for this prestigious Paris Salon and the further recognition: a deeply meaninful milestone in my journey since returning to painting in 2017.

As a result, little new work has appeared recently, aside from Chailly Spring (Chailly-en-Bière)—a small painting begun during the Galerie 39 Barbizon exhibition in February. After so many grey winter days, I wanted to bring some sunshine indoors, inspired by the vivid yellow rapeseed fields (colza 🇫🇷) surrounding Barbizon in April 🌼 , with a quiet hidden equine presence for the viewer to discover. 😉

What else?

Following my acceptance into Oil Painters of America at the end of 2025, that artistic momentum has continued into 2026 with my acceptance as a member of Fondation Taylor (Paris). I am very grateful to my two sponsors for supporting my submission to the Foundation’s Committee.

Founded in 1844, Fondation Taylor is one of France’s historic artist institutions, supporting artists through exhibitions, publications, and grants. This marks an important step in my journey as an artist.

March - Momentum [News]

March — Momentum

Following on from an early February — marked by receiving a “Mention” at the Salon des Artistes Français (Art Capital) at the Grand Palais — I took a brief week to recharge with family back home in the Philadelphia region.

I was deeply moved — not only by the jury recognition, but also because that painting was selected for the 236th Le Salon des Artistes Français and featured my mare, El Chrispalina, whom we lost in January 2025. The loss is still raw, yet it felt quietly powerful to see her present in that moment in February 2026.

March arrives with the old adage in mind: will it come in like a lion and go out like a lamb — or the reverse? Either way, I’m choosing momentum.

I’m back in Barbizon. The studio is fully in motion.  A new addition to my week is that I’ve returned to the weights / gym — essential for strength and core when you’re ride at my age with mares who have their own ideas in mind 🚀. Everything is moving forward. 🔥

In the Studio — Building Toward June

I am currently deep into development of a large-scale project scheduled for release in June, alongside several new works evolving on the easel while quietly resolving select 2025 works in the studio

This is not a season for constant documentation. It is a season for depth — time alone with my pigments and brushs — refining, pushing, evolving. That focus defines 2026.

End of March — Biennale Versaillaise

At the end of the month, I will be exhibiting in the juries 7th Biennale Versaillaise in Versailles (March 31 – April 5) and honored to present “Versailles à Cheval” inspired by the summer 2024 Olympics with the equestrian events set in the beautiful grounds of Versailles as the backdrop. That setting — horse, architecture, history — still gives me goosebumps.

2025 Review, Fire Horse Ahead [NEWSLETTER]

Looking back on 2025, I'm grateful for new art, shows, a Morocco residency that broadened my artist perspective, and moments of recognition. Thank you for your continued support, whether you've been here this year or just joined. As we enter the Year of the Fire Horse, I'm energized and ready for new ideas and creativity … with an early heads up about February art events.

2025 in Review

🎨 New Work

2025 was a year of momentum returning. After my accident in 2024 and two major surgeries, I spent much of this year catching up on studio time. I finished a number of paintings, including two Barbizon-inspired pieces created for a Tokyo exhibition (November 2025), along with a number of commissioned works. 

I also completed a four-part series for the Dutch Equine Art Fair (November 2025), which is now back in my studio as part of a broader recalibration. In 2025, I felt a noticeable shift—an urge to evolve, experiment, and refine the direction of my work. That change was influenced by two things: exploring watercolor studies this year, and reflecting on eight years of steady painting. Together, they brought me back to what matters most to me in the studio: paintings of presence, bolder decisions, and emotion carried by color and light.

That spirit of experimentation showed up not only in larger pieces, but also through small-format works for the Paard Verzameld Equine Art Collective one-week challenges—quick studies where I test composition, technique, and style, and often carry discoveries back into the larger paintings.

I’m excited to see what 2026 brings—new pieces, and the completion of a few works still in motion from 2025. Right now, I’m working on my 2026 studio focus around Horses ~ Horizons ~ Light—a guiding thread as new work takes form.

🖼️ Art Events

 2025 art calendar was busy with 12 art events—both juried and by invitation—spanning Paris, Saumur, Amsterdam, and Tokyo, plus two personal shows at Galerie 39 Barbizon. Love these events as a great way not only to share work, but also to reconnect with fellow artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts.

One of the year’s most defining moments was an art residency in Morocco (June 2025). Immersed in the region’s scenery, light, and color, I collaborated with other artists and shifted from oils into watercolor studies—working faster, simplifying, and using light and color to capture the moment quickly was a challenge. It was a genuine creative reset, and it made me think of Turner, Constable, and Sargent using watercolor to stay close to the moment. I love watercolors and want to work a little more in this medium in 2026.

🏅 Awards & Recognition

In 2025, I was honored to receive several awards, including:

• Prix du Public Jeune — Salon d’Automne (Coubron) (November 2025)

• PRIX Arts Majestic — Galerie Montsûrs, AEAF Salon Internationale des Arts (Paris, May 2025)

I also received several awards via international online art competitions throughout the year. I use these competitions to have work visible, challenged, and in conversation beyond my local exhibitions.

I was pleased to end the year with acceptance as a member of the Oil Painters of America. It is an association that promotes excellence in representational art and supports oil painters through juried exhibitions, education, and a professional community.

2026 has already begun at full speed, with February in particular feeling like the artist’s version of corporate busy season (October tends to be the other). From Barbizon to the Grand Palais in Paris, here are a few dates for your diary

Late Autumn Art Events [Art News]

Hard to believe we’re already nearing the end of the year! As November and December unfold, I continue to have a vibrant rhythm of exhibitions and studio work that accompany the change of season. 🖼️

With winter approaching, my schedule is filled with art projects and upcoming events—alongside time at the stables for some very-much appreciated horse time 🐴.

I first had the pleasure of attending this art show in 2023, where I was absolutely delighted to receive two awards: the Award by the Guest of Honor and the “Coup de Cœur.” In 2024, I was deeply proud to serve as the Salon’s Guest of Honor (painter).

This year, I am very much looking forward to returning—sharing two new 2025 paintings, reconnecting with old friends / fellow artists, meeting new acquaintances, and, perhaps most exciting of all, engaging in a live painting session for local school students on Thursday, November 27.

A special art event organised by the French Association for the Promotion of Contemporary Arts (AFRAC) and Denis Cornet Galerie THUILLIER Paris. The team and the artwork are heading to Tokyo this Friday 21 November ✈️. 2 unique oil paintings were created for this event, one landscape and one equine celebrating the equine form, nature’s insprirations local Barbizon – Fontainebleau Forest that inspired Japanese artists to come over to Barbizon region in the 1800s to explore Western Impressionist Painting style that was then evolving. Stay tuned for the full release.

Following receipt of the PRIX Arts Majestic Galerie Montsûrs 🏆 at the 2025 International Salon des Arts de l'AEAF in Paris this past May, I will be participating La Grande Expo International in Montsûrs with Italy as the Guest of Honor.   

The exhibition will bring together 90 French and international artists, and will include three of my equine art paintings chosen by the gallery to be part of this special event.

🖌️ In the Studio — Preparing for Dutch Equine Art Fair Amsterdam 🇳🇱
Between these events, my Barbizon studio has been VERY BUSY preparing for the Dutch Equine Art Fair, that will be held at the Living Horse Museum in Amsterdam (6–9 November) with Paard Verzameld. A very special event in a beautify historic setting De Hollandsche Manege for this unique international event featuring over 30 curated artists from around the world … and entirely contemporary equine art. 🐴

I’m currently creating four large-format oil paintings that explore presence, atmosphere, and connection through the expressive form of the horse. Can’t wait to share these with you soon 🎨

It is a great time of year to be at Galerie 39 with equine enthusiasts all around especially given it is also the same time as the French Young Jumper Finals at Grand Parquet Fontainebleau (la Grande Semaine CSO Finales Nationals de Jeunes Chevaux) and the annual Sale of Young Jumpers at Espace Rozier (Les Ventes Fences Elite de Jeune Chevaux.

And as always … it is one of my favorite events in my art calendar to catch up with you.

So Long Winter [Newsletter]

Hello !

Spring vibes are in the air and I' can’t wait for the Fountainebleau Forest to wake up 🌿 

Following busy February with Galerie 39 Barbizon solo show and Galerie Thuillier Prix de la Presse, I took a quick break to find some sun in Provence. A great place for 2025 planning 😉. Since, when I'm not at the stables, I've busy been in the art studio before a hospital visit on 20 March to remove the titanium plate following 2024 accident [FREEDOM 😀] .

So a few new paintings are finished. YES - a WILD color variation ! 🎨  

I love the dynamic impact of COLOR … to create a natural light within the canvas and to express emotion. For me, sunsets always translate as Nature saying “hey LOOK at me” 🌅 but the gentle morning light is more a reflective … “un petit coucou” … sense of hope and possibilities of what could come in the day. Does color impact you similarly

So what’s in store for 2025?

PAINTING … Last year, life events took away considerable time. I want to see where the pigments take me this year.  This Spring, I plan new canvases including a Water Series 2025 and two pieces for an art event in Tokyo, Japan 🇯🇵 (November 2025). Intrigued?  Me Too! 😃 Stay tuned! 🎨

Any upcoming art shows?

I’m playing around with a couple of art show ideas but really want to focus on CREATING in 2025.  The next scheduled art event is in May (AEAF Salon International des Arts at Galerie Nesle Paris 6). As always there will be Galerie 39 Barbizon Equine Art Solo Show (August). More to come! 🎨

What else?

With all the excitement of February art events I forgot to mention “London Calling” ©️ 2018 received 2nd place in Fusion Art Palm Springs CA International Online Art Competition “Urban Landscapes”. I was so happy 😃. It's one of my favorite 2018 paintings that’s now held in Private Collection in London 🇬🇧

Featuring “Autumn Reflections”

It’s been AWHILE since I have connected with you …. and apologies for that.

From a creativity perspective, 2024 was a tough year as was not in the art studio as much as I would’ve wished …. following an accident mounting my horse in March leading to 2 surgeries, unplanned urgent trips to the US for family, and then recently having to put down our beloved retired mare (and art muse). 🦄 🎨

Throughout all … ART was my THERAPY in 2024 … both in creating 25+ paintings and participating in art events (Barbizon, Paris, Bucks County PA USA) and seeing you. 😊

So what’s the plan for 2025?

 The 2025 Art Pipeline is a beautiful mix of equine art and landscape oil paintings, plus fun monthly equine art challenges as part of the Paard Verzameld Collective. You'll also find some vibrant urban-themed paintings that bring a fresh splash of color and lively energy to any wall space.

[New for 2025] I’ll be creating unique art for open edition prints and merchandise. I love this as it makes art accessible for all ages and budgets … and will change with the seasons ❄️ 🌱 ☀️ 🍁 … so always good to check out the ‘Shop Art’ on website to see what’s on offer.

My 2025 art events will be limited so I can spend more time in the art studio (when not at the stables) focusing on Barbizon & Paris art shows …  with some other exciting events currently in planning stages later in 2025 including Tokyo [stay tuned].

The CHALLENGE is I am only one person. Each original oil painting can take from 2 weeks to 3 months to create depending on size, which creates constraints given demand. I've also been thinking about the best ways to make my unique art available for all ages and budgets.

So what’s happened?

I've developed 'Shop Art' Online Art Boutique on my website … to make this a viable business on which to live, and MORE IMPORTANTLY, to make art available to everybody.

'Shop Art' includes two boutiques to minimize your shipping costs (one for US and a separate one for Europe). This took time and there is still some work involved.

Flying into Holiday season!

I hope you are doing well. Since my last email, Salon d’Automne 2024 hosted by the town of COUBRON (93) has since finished and have lots of wonderful memories of the week. It was very special to the Guest of Honor (‘invitée d’honneur’) but what I LOVED most was sharing my world as an artist with students of local schools. Even with some snow challenges ❄️ still achieved to do a full day where I met with 6 different groups of students with lots of intrigue and questions !! 😀 Some of them where as tall as me …not difficult right? 😂. Here are some photos of the week.

 [🇺🇸 I am WAY BEHIND in communication and REALLY sorry about that! I may be off horses following the March accident but been VERY busy in the art studio prepping for two July Art Shows (Galerie Thuillier Paris 3 from 19 July and Galerie 39 Barbizon-77 from 24 July).

Here are 3 new paintings celebrating the beauty of the Paris region with sporting elegance and a fun set of colors. 😊 🎨

The common thread across all 3 paintings? Colorful Beauty in Motion.

1. Versailles à Cheval (100x81cm)… An EPIC project like 5 paintings in one and covering my favorite subjects, horses in 3 disciplines and the vast skies, and Versailles with the Apollo Fountain water feature setting the scene.   As an equine enthusiast, horse owner and equestrian, I could not resist creating this painting being the first in the series. It also includes one of my favorite colors, Williamsburg Cerulean Blue 💙

2. « Rhythmic Flare » (55x46cm) Artistry meets athleticism. Nothing like springtime in Paris with a splash of Eiffel Tower cherry blossoms to put a kick into the air with rhythmic gymnastics. I have always enjoyed gymnastics. When I was young I wanted to be active on the Middle School Gymnastics team. Well that did NOT happen as parents would have NONE of it as they did not want me to break something that could stop my training on piano and violin. It was the same reason why I could not ride horses. Rhythmic gymnastics has that added element (like a ribbon). I love the fluid motion combining gymnastics that makes a pleasure to paint 💫

3. « Aquatic Flare » (55x46cm) … Powerful yet graceful precision flying through air to land with a VERY tiny splash in the water 💦. The synchronized diving with 2 divers is equally STUNNING ! 😀 🌟  It brings me back to the day when I was little learning to dive off the 1m springboard and 3meter platform diving boards with my "coach", my grandfather  ❤️

 Every canvas starts with an inspiration (an idea, a color, a style) but converting that imagery into something physically tangible is a leap. The ideas are there.  I wanted some detail but also have fun. The colors were playing around in my head .. but converting the ideas through color to canvas can be the challenge. Did I capture it or lose it in translation? Too much color? Too much or not enough detail? Also, EVERYBODY knows each of these Paris locations so it is key to get it right.

There was also the challenge of Versailles restoration, which refreshed the real life colors of the Apollo Fountain and the Royal Chapel.

For painting style … I wanted a bit more freedom with less precision and more splashes of color to express a feeling : splendor of horses at Versailles, the playful movement of the gymnast through the ribbon to the Eiffel Tower, and the arc of a diver soaring over the Parisian landscape of the Pont Alexander III connecting Rive Gauche/ Rive Droite of the Seine with the backdrop of the elegant Grand Palais.

Can you taste the figs?

🇫🇷 NOUVEAU TOILE, « The Fig Tree »

Des nouveaux GRAND tableaux d'art équin vont sortir la semaine prochaine… mais entre temps… voici une nouvelle petite toile célébrant l'été en Provence.

 J'aime travailler sur des pièces plus petites pendant le procesus de creer des grandes œuvres d'art qui prennent du temps. Cela permet de se vider la tête, de changer les choses, et… parfois… l'occasion d'essayer un nouveau tube de peinture.  Quel est le résultat ? Dans ce cas, « The Fig Tree » pour une touche d’été en essayant un nouveau tube de Radient Magenta par Gamblin pour ce rose PUNCHY 💖 🎨 😀 . J'adore le soleil provençal, le rosé, les marchés locaux et le temps passé dans le jardin à déguster de délicieuses figues et à préparer un chutney de figues maison ! 🌳 Sentez-vous l'ombre fraîche sous le figuier ?

🇺🇸 NEW PAINTING, “The Fig Tree”

New BIG equine art paintings out next week  … but before that … a new little canvas celebrating summer in Provence.

Big artwork takes time and, during the process, I like to work on smaller pieces. This helps clear the head to change things up, let loose and have fun, and … at times … an opportunity to try out a new tube of paint.  What is the outcome? In this case, “The Fig Tree” for touch of summer trying out a new tube of Gamblin radient magenta for that PUNCHY pink 💖 🎨 😀 . I love the Provencal sun, rosé, local markets, and time in the garden enjoying delicious figs and making homemade Fig chutney! 🌳 Can you feel the cool shade under the Fig Tree ?

Hello Spring

Great memories and special thanks to Médiathéque de Fontainebleau and Fontainebleau Cheval for organizing this lovely equine event.

🇫🇷  Le printemps est là… mais un tout petit peu frais 🥶 . L'événement d'art équin QUINZAINE DU CHEVAL à Fontainebleau termine aujourd’hui avec des bonheurs et des bons souvenirs. Alors, quelle est la suite ?  Apres un accident bête en mars, je me déplace plus lentement avec des béquilles (fracture de la cheville et rupture de 2 ligaments au genou). Je ne monte plus à cheval pour le moment… mais je suis très occupée dans l’atelier (nouvelles toiles et des commandes).

Aucune exposition d'art n'est prévue avant juillet pour me concentrer sur de nouvelles œuvres à l'approche des Jeux Olympiques (juillet - Galerie 39 Barbizon et Galerie Thuillier Paris 3). Je vais commencer de dévoiler des nouvelles toiles à l’huile bientôt. Voir la photo en bas, un petit aperçu d'un nouveau tableau.

En attendant et si la météo le permet (avec béquilles) je serai au Printemps des Sports Équestres (Le Grand Parquet, FONTAINEBLEAU) weekend le 27 et 28 avril pour voir des épreuves CDI 5* CSI 5* 😊 🐴

[🇺🇸  Spring is here  … albeit a wee bit cold 🥶.  Just wrapping up QUINZAINE DU CHEVAL Fontainebleau equine art event, full of good times. So what is next? Following my silly accident in March, I am moving slower on crutches (ankle fracture and 2 ruptured knee ligaments). I may not be riding horses … but very busy in art studio (new paintings and commissions).

No art shows planned until July to focus on new artwork in the run up to the Olympics (July - Galerie 39 Barbizon and Galerie Thuillier Paris 3).  I’ll start to release new oil paintings shortly. The photo below is a little peak of one new painting.

In the meanwhile and if weather permits (with crutches) I plan to be at Printemps des Sports Équestres (Le Grand Parquet, FONTAINEBLEAU) weekend 27-28 April to catch CDI 5* CSI 5* 😊 🐴 ]
