« Sun is Shining » is a wrap
« Sun is Shining » 65x50cm oils on linen finished. It will be displayed at Salon d’Art Animalier (29/2-8/3) at Saint-Pierre-Les-Nemours. Named by my daughter who requested this painting featuring our beloved Portugese Water Dog, Mountainehead’s Marlowe.
I felt like a change up…. to do something different with my new easel (which is a dream and now I can paint with full confidence that it will not crash down like my old trusty tripod easel – handy but can’t support the bigger canvases !).
My daughter wanted another portrait ….2 years on from my first one I painting of her. This time with our Portuguese Water Dog, Mountainhead’s Marlowe. This was something that I pulled together based on an idea I had in my head and taking a series of photos last summer at the stables under the beautiful summer sun in Barbizon.

First oil painting of 2019!
Exciting new start of the New Year with a new painting fresh off the easel.
The oil painting is 73x60cm oils on linen. It is based on a photo I took of my daughter’s beloved dog Gilly who we lost last year to illness. She loved to swim in the pool. I was not even finished with the painting and my daughter already had a claim on it. Looking forward to an exciting New Year at the easel! This is a snip-it of the original painting.
