Hello from Barbizon !

Apologies for being a little quiet lately.  .. It’s been a bit of a whirlwind with new work, exhibitions, horse shows, art planning and a new arrival, Limone and Co, joining the family.

Here is a little update on upcoming events … and I’ll be sharing more soon about new painting releases and also upcoming publication to hit the streets soon.

In the meantime …. Thank You 😊 to everyone who stopped by Galerie 39 Barbizon. It was a pleasure to see familiar faces, make new acquaintances and meet new collectors, with several pieces now in their new homes. A portion of the exhibition sales was donated to the Fondation du Patrimoine – Sauvons la forêt de Fontainebleau🌳to support a place that continues to inspire so much of my work.

Later this month, I return to  Le Salon d’Automne at Place de la Concorde Paris for the fourth consecutive year. A historic salon founded in 1903 that remains a touchstone for contemporary art. A special thanks to the jury / President of the Section Figurative to have the confidence in my work. So proud to exhibit alongside other remarkable contemporary artists from around the world.

🖌️ In the Studio — Preparing for Dutch Equine Art Fair Amsterdam 🇳🇱
Between these events, my Barbizon studio has been VERY BUSY preparing for the Dutch Equine Art Fair, that will be held at the Living Horse Museum in Amsterdam (6–9 November) with Paard Verzameld. A very special event in a beautify historic setting De Hollandsche Manege for this unique international event featuring over 30 curated artists from around the world … and entirely contemporary equine art. 🐴

I’m currently creating four large-format oil paintings that explore presence, atmosphere, and connection through the expressive form of the horse. Can’t wait to share these with you soon 🎨

The weather has been beautiful to set up my solo art show, Cheval dans l’Art (26 Aug to 7 Sept  2025) celebrating my passion for art and horses. 🖼️✨

It is a great time of year to be at Galerie 39 with equine enthusiasts all around especially given it is also the same time as the French Young Jumper Finals at Grand Parquet Fontainebleau (la Grande Semaine CSO Finales Nationals de Jeunes Chevaux) and the annual Sale of Young Jumpers at Espace Rozier (Les Ventes Fences Elite de Jeune Chevaux.

Summer Colors, Fresh Work and an Invitation [Newsletter]

Hello 👋

Late Spring / Summer has been full of lots of creativity, recognition, and exciting opportunities. I’m delighted to share a glimpse of what’s been happening in the studio and beyond:

🎨 Art inspiration

As I say “Life brings Color, Colors Inspires Art” and the past few months have brought much to my mind as I continue to explore my own art going forward.

The last few months have been full of ART INSPIRATION including a 9-day watercolor art excusion to Skoura, Ouarzazate and Marrekech Morocco with a group of artists led by Patricia Cabillon. It was a very special experience to explore new ways to see light and color via watercolor. I plan to share a full account of this trip with you in upcoming weeks but here is a little photo snip-it.

After the visit to Morocco, the remainder of June was spent on a family trip to the United States 🇺🇸 before returning to France 🇫🇷 in July …. filled with horses shows in Fontainebleau and near Deauville … and art studio time prepping for a VERY BUSY Autumn including artwork scheduled November art events: Galerie Kubota (Tokyo, JAPAN 🇯🇵) organized by Denis Cornet Galerie THUILLIER Paris and the Dutch Equine Art Fair organized by Paard Verzameld at Living Horse Museum Amsterdam 🇳🇱.  

🖼️ New Art

Since my last newsletter, I’ve been busy in the art studio working on new oil paintings and wrapping up several commissions … and completing a few pieces for the 1-week art challenges organized by Paard Verzameld’s International Equine Art Collective that are always a GREAT OPPORTUNITY to explore different styles and techniques to EVOLVE as an artist.

As I like to weave traditional Representational style into Impressionist atmosphere …. I feel there is still a way to go 🎨 .  I’m using opportunities like art exhibitions in Tokyo and Amsterdam to push the creativity out further.

🏆 Recognition
In the past few months I was honored to receive the PRIX Arts Majestic Galerie Montsûrs at the International Salons des Arts Paris organized by the Académie Européene des Arts-France (May 2025).  I was then delighted to also receive awards from LightSpaceTime International Online Art Competitions in June and July: 10th place Overall/6th Place Painting Category & Special Recognition (“Cityscapes”), and Special Recognition (“Summer”).

The summer also brings my annual solo Equine Art Show at Galerie 39 Barbizon. Last year it was held in July coinciding with the Paris 2024 Olympics. This year, I’m returning to end of summer timeslot falling during the Grande Semaine de Jeune Chevaux Finales CSO at Grand Parquet, Fontainebleau featuring new work. Can’t wait !!

🇫🇷  Suite à l'accident du mois de mars (une fracture de la cheville et rupture des ligaments du genou), je retournerai à l'hôpital fin mai pour une 2ème opération. Alors… Je suis très occupée dans l’atelier avec plusieurs toiles d'art équin en cours pour les expositions d'art de juillet dont une « Paris 2024 à Cheval » dédiée aux Jeux Olympiques : Galerie 39 Barbizon (22 juillet – 4 août) et Galerie Thuillier Paris 3 (19 juillet – 1er août). Restez à l'écoute. 😊 🐴

[🇺🇸  Following the March accident with broken ankle and ruptured knee ligaments, I am going back into hospital end of May for 2nd surgery.   SO spent a little time at the temporary art studio in Gordes catching some sun… and … very BUSY. I can’t wait to share new equine art paintings for July art shows including one “Paris 2024 à Cheval” dedicated to the Olympics: : Galerie 39 Barbizon (22 July – 4 Aug) and Galerie Thuillier Paris 3 (19 July – 1 August).

Hello Spring

Great memories and special thanks to Médiathéque de Fontainebleau and Fontainebleau Cheval for organizing this lovely equine event.

🇫🇷  Le printemps est là… mais un tout petit peu frais 🥶 . L'événement d'art équin QUINZAINE DU CHEVAL à Fontainebleau termine aujourd’hui avec des bonheurs et des bons souvenirs. Alors, quelle est la suite ?  Apres un accident bête en mars, je me déplace plus lentement avec des béquilles (fracture de la cheville et rupture de 2 ligaments au genou). Je ne monte plus à cheval pour le moment… mais je suis très occupée dans l’atelier (nouvelles toiles et des commandes).

Aucune exposition d'art n'est prévue avant juillet pour me concentrer sur de nouvelles œuvres à l'approche des Jeux Olympiques (juillet - Galerie 39 Barbizon et Galerie Thuillier Paris 3). Je vais commencer de dévoiler des nouvelles toiles à l’huile bientôt. Voir la photo en bas, un petit aperçu d'un nouveau tableau.

En attendant et si la météo le permet (avec béquilles) je serai au Printemps des Sports Équestres (Le Grand Parquet, FONTAINEBLEAU) weekend le 27 et 28 avril pour voir des épreuves CDI 5* CSI 5* 😊 🐴

[🇺🇸  Spring is here  … albeit a wee bit cold 🥶.  Just wrapping up QUINZAINE DU CHEVAL Fontainebleau equine art event, full of good times. So what is next? Following my silly accident in March, I am moving slower on crutches (ankle fracture and 2 ruptured knee ligaments). I may not be riding horses … but very busy in art studio (new paintings and commissions).

No art shows planned until July to focus on new artwork in the run up to the Olympics (July - Galerie 39 Barbizon and Galerie Thuillier Paris 3).  I’ll start to release new oil paintings shortly. The photo below is a little peak of one new painting.

In the meanwhile and if weather permits (with crutches) I plan to be at Printemps des Sports Équestres (Le Grand Parquet, FONTAINEBLEAU) weekend 27-28 April to catch CDI 5* CSI 5* 😊 🐴 ]

Cela fait un moment que j’ai fait un blog. Désolée ! Depuis un bon moment mois j’ai été vraiment occupée entre l’art et mes chevaux que je partagerai avec vous pendant les jours qui viennent. Je suis ravie de faire partie à la QUINZAINE DU CHEVAL organisés par la Médiathèque de Fontainebleau en partenariat avec l'association Fontainebleau Cheval en amont du Printemps des Sports Équestres et des grands concours hippiques internationales (CDI 5*dressage, CSI 5* saut d'obstacles et CCI 3-S complet) au Grand Parquet fin avril. Dans le cadre de la Quinzaine du Cheval mes chevaux sur toile partagent les murs à Médiathèque de Fontainebleau – Espace Culturel de la Charité Royale avec des toiles d’art équin créée par Laetitia PLINGUET.

J’ai hâte à vous revoir 😊. Je serai au Vernissage le samedi 13 avril (12h30-15h) et sur place pendant la semaine du 15 avril avec la peinture in vivo et j’anime quelques Ateliers Les P’tites Peintres pendant la semaine du 15 avril.

[🇺🇸] It has been a while since I blogged. Sorry for that! A lot has been going on with art and the horses which I plan to share with you in the upcoming days but wanted to get this note out to you in case you are in the FONTAINBLEAU region in the upcoming days.

I am thrilled to be part “15 Days Celebrating the Horse” organized by Médiathèque Fontainebleau in partnership with the association Fontainebleau Cheval ahead of Printemps des Sports Équestres of international horse shows (CDI 5*dressage, CSI 5* jumping, CCI 3-S cross country) at the  Grand Parquet end of April. As part of the “15 Days Celebrating the Horse”, my equine art is on display along with fellow equine artist Laetitia PLINGUET.

Would love to catch up with you 😊.  I will be at the Vernissage on Saturday 13 April (12:30-3pm), doing LIVE painting, and leading a couple of art workshops for the little painters during the week of 15 April.  

A wonderful event not to miss in Fontainebleau until 20 April 2024 🐴

• 30+ new oil paintings (landscapes, equine art, commissions, and art created as part of the Paard Verzameld Collective)

• 13 art shows in Barbizon, Paris and further afield in France (Meung sur Loire / Saumur), and part of amazing event organized by Paard Verzameld and the Living Horse Museum Amsterdam (the first Dutch Equine Art Fair, Aug 2023).

• Diploma Academician and Decorated with the Vermeil Medal by Arts-Sciences-Lettres Paris (Oct 2023)

• Other art awards including Special Mention for « Winter Light » (Galerie Thuillier Prix de la Presse 2023), Special Recognition for « Megeve 2023 » (LightSpaceTime « Patterns » online international art competition), and receiving Prix d’Invité d’Honneur and Prix Coup de Cœur (2023 Salon d’Automn, COUBRON, which means I will be the «Guest of Honor »  at Salon d’Automme COUBRON 2024).

2023 ended with a lovely surprise to find that I was also featured twice in the new book about Barbizon published in November 2023.

I love this village … and it is a personal symbol of my soul (art and horses).

Animal Art Paris 2022 (18-20 Nov)

[ 🇫🇷]  Animal Art Paris 2022 du Salon International des Artistes Animaliers contemporains reçois près de 7.000 visiteurs à Paris et Bruxelles chaque année. Le Salon est devenu la plus grande exposition-vente en Europe entièrement consacrée à l’art animalier contemporain, avec une dominante faune européenne et faune sauvage (Afrique et autres continents), chasse, chiens, chevaux…  Le Salon se tiendra au Hippodrome d’Auteuil (Paris 16) du 18 au 20 Novembre. Il y a 50 Artistes professionnels français et étrangers, sélectionnés par le Comité du salon, présents pendant toute la durée de l’exposition (peintures, gravures, dessins, sculptures, photographies, objets d’art et de décoration).  Je serai présente toute la durée de l’exposition avec des nouveaux tableaux à l’huile d’art équin. [🇺🇸] Animal Art Paris 2022, an international at salon dedicated to contemporary Animal Artists, receives 7000+ visitors at the shows in Paris and Brussels each year. The Salon has become the largest art exhibition in Europe dedicated to contemporary animal art, with wildlife scenes from Europe, Africa and other continents, hunting, dogs and horses. There will be 50 professional artists (France and international), selected by the Salon Committee, in attendance during the art exhibition (paintings, carvings, drawings, sculptures, photography, and other artistic creations and decoration). February 2022 Art Events

If you are looking for interesting art events during the wintery month of February in the Paris region, then here are some very interesting ones to visit.

• Art et Matières 91 (Essonne) – 29 Jan to 6 Feb 2022. An annual event held in five different towns in the Essonne department: different locations with different artists and themes. My equine artwork is on display at the Maisse location (centre culturel Robert Dumas) with other painters and sculptures. •  Galerie Thuillier Prix du Jury (Marais Paris) – 4 to 7 Feb 2022. An invitation only event …. different artists are permitted to display 1-2 artwork(s). Vernissage Tuesday 8 Feb from 6pm with the prize giving at 7:30pm.  It is just right down the street from the Picasso Museum.  Come and see which painting to be displayed …. You will not have seen this painting yet as it is fresh-off-the-easel! 

• Salon des Artistes Francais / Art Capital Paris 2022 (Grand Palais Ephemere) – 16 to 20 Feb 2022. An art event NOT to miss ! Four different salons with over 2000 artists. I am thrilled to have been selected by the Society for the Salon des Artistes Français for the third year in the row.  Tickets can be purchased at the link below. Salon des Artistes Francais 2022 (Sélectionnée)

[🇫🇷]  Un très bon départ d'année 2022. Je suis ravie que mon tableau à l’huile « Bowie » crée en 2021 a été sélectionné pour le « Salon des Artistes Français » dans le cadre de ART CAPITAL PARIS 2022 au Grand Palais Éphémère programmé du 16 au 20 février 2022.  Il est la troisième année consécutive d’avoir été sélectionnée pour cet incroyable événement au Grand Palais.

  [🇺🇸]  A wonderful start to 2022. I am so delighted that my oil painting “Bowie” (2021) was selected for the “Salon des Artistes Français” as part of ART CAPITAL PARIS 2022 to be held at the Grand Palais Éphémère (16-20 February 2022).  It is the third consecutive year to be selected for this incredible event at the Grand Palais.

2 Honorable Mentions “Blue” (Aug 2021)

Thrilled that both “BlueBelle”, my new #monochromatic ultramarine blue oil painting, and “Blue Coat” (2018) were awarded Honorable Mention in the Grey Cube Gallery Aug 2021 “Blue” international online art competition. 

The show included a range of artistic styles and mediums (e.g., oil on canvas, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and photography). The submissions were judged on artistic expression including originality, quality, and interpretation. Out of all entries, 155 artworks were shortlisted for inclusion in the show.

Both paintings will be on display at #galerie39barbizon from 24 Aug - 5 Sept.

Salon des Artistes Français 2021 : Sélectionnée

[🇫🇷]  Je suis ravie que mon tableau à huile 100x81cm «Into the Final Straight» fait en 2020 a été sélectionnée par jury pour le Salon «Société des Artistes Français» dans le cadre de ART CAPITAL 2021 programmé du 10 au 14 février 2021. C'est un merveilleux début d'année 2021 après une année 2020 très difficile, surtout en tant qu'artiste peintre à l'huile émergente. C'est ma deuxième année pour soumettre ma candidature et la deuxième année mon œuvre d’art a été accepté par ce prestigieux jury pour cet incroyable événement d’art qui normalement se tient au Grand Palais (Paris). Malheureusement l’évènement n’aura pas lieu à cause de l’état d’urgence sanitaire qui a été prolongé jusqu’au 16 février 2021.  Toutefois, la Société des Artistes Français va présenter les œuvres d’art sélectionnées par leur jury pour le « Salon des Artistes Français » dans le catalogue virtuel diffusé en février 2021 sur leur site https://www.artistes-francais.com. [🇺🇸] Thrilled that my oil 100x81cm oil painting “Into the Final Straight” (2020) was jury-selected for the Salon “Société des Artistes Français” as part of ART CAPITAL 2021 (10-14 February 2021).  It is a wonderful start to 2021 following a very difficult 2020 especially as an emerging artist / oil painter. It is my second year to apply and the second year my work has been accepted by this prestigious jury for this incredible art event that is normally held in the Grand Palais (Paris).  Unfortunately, this big art event will not take place because of the state of emergency due to Covid has been extended to 16 February 2021. However, Société des Artistes Français will present the artwork selected by their jury for the « Salon des Artistes Français » in an online catalogue / gallery on their website (https://www.artistes-francais.com) in February 2021. There will also be a promotion of the online catalog / gallery on Instagram and Facebook.  Stay tuned for more information to come.

Art & Design Magazine, No. 25 Autumn 2020 (Featured Artist)

[🇫🇷] Le calendrier des événements des expositions d'art étant un peu incertain étant donné les circonstances avec Covid-19, il a été très intéressant d'explorer d'autres avenues. Durant l'été 2020, j'ai eu l'opportunité d'être présenté dans le magazine, « International Thoroughbred ». Maintenant pendant l'automne 2020, je suis un artiste présenté avec mes peintures équins dans le magazine Art & Design, édition n ° 25 de septembre-novembre 2020. Je partage le lien vers le magazine.  [🇺🇸] With the art show event calendar being a bit uncertain given the circumstances with Covid-19, it has been very interesting to explore alternative avenues to showcase my work. During the summer 2020, I had the opportunity to be in International Thoroughbred Magazine. Now during Autumn 2020, it is exciting to have my equine artwork featured in the Art & Design Magazine, Sept-Nov 2020 No. 25 edition. I attach a link to the magazine. Check it out!  The review is on page 54-55.

2eme Expo Arts Equestre, Galerie 39 Barbizon

[🇺🇸]  So pleased to announce the 2eme Expo Arts Equestre co-hosted with professional equine photographer,@CedricMion. The art show will be held at Galerie 39 (Barbizon 77630) from 18 -31 August from 2-7pm each day (31 Aug, 10am-12pm). The vernissage will be on Friday 28 August from 5pm. Given Covid-19, face masks are obligatory and we will be following French public event requirements effective at the time. We look forward to the opportunity of sharing our new work, which is also available for purchase.

[🇫🇷] Très heureux d'annoncer la 2eme Expo Arts Equestre co-organisée avec le photographe équin professionnel, @ CedricMion. L'exposition d'art se tiendra à la Galerie 39 (Barbizon 77630) du 18 au 31 août de 14h à 19h (31 août, 10h-12h). Le vernissage aura lieu le vendredi 28 août à partir de 17h. Compte tenu du Covid-19, les masques faciaux sont obligatoires et nous suivrons les exigences des événements publics français en vigueur à l'époque. Nous attendons avec impatience l'opportunité de partager nos œuvres d’art, qui sont également disponible à l'achat.

International Thoroughbred Magazine (June 2020 issue)

[🇺🇸]  “International Thoroughbred” Magazine, a leading UK & European racing and breeding magazine, published an exclusive Equine Art special digital edition in June 2020.  The magazine is circulated to owners, trainers, bloodstock professionals and enthusiasts. The whole world has going through a difficult period right now and ITB wanted to do something special and colourful. I was so pleased to have been invited for this endeavor featuring leading equestrian artists and sculptures.

[🇫🇷] « International Thoroughbred » Magazine, l'un des principaux magazines de course et d'élevage au Royaume-Uni et en Europe, a publié une édition numérique spéciale exclusive Équine Art en juin 2020. Le magazine est distribué aux propriétaires, formateurs(trices), professionnel(le)s et amateurs passionné(e)s de chevaux pur-sang. Le monde entier traverse actuellement une période difficile et ITB voulait faire une édition spéciale et coloré. J'étais tellement heureuse d'avoir été invitée à cette opportunité mettant en vedette certaines artistes et sculptures équestres.
