Le Salon d’Automne Paris 2026 (28 Oct – 1 Nov)

Paris is particularly beautiful this time of year with the changing colors and light 🍁🍂

Le Salon d’Automne Paris 2026, set in the heart of Place de la Concorde, is buzzing with energy! An incredible gathering of talented artists, inspiring works, and wonderful conversations with visitors, all against the backdrop of autumn in Paris.

The Salon runs until Sunday, November 1. I'll be there each day from around 4:30–5 PM until closing at 8 PM.

It's always a pleasure to be part of this historic Parisian exhibition.

Visitor note: Due to demonstrations planned in Paris, there is a possibility of changes to the Salon's opening arrangements this weekend. The organizers are monitoring developments closely, and I'll share any updates if necessary. As far as we know right now, the weekend event schedule is unchanged.

[🇺🇸] I am thrilled and honored that my oil painting, “Turning Point”, was selected for 119th Salon d’Automne (Section: Figuration) at the Grand Halle de La Villette open to the public from 21 – 23 October 2022. A true honor to be part of this historical art event.

[🇺🇸]  About The Salon d'Automne.  was created in the basement of the Petit Palais Paris in 1903… an independent exhibition to promote the avant-garde and the innovative ideas of the time. The choice of autumn was strategic: it allows artists to present the small formats produced outdoors during the summer - thus placing themselves at the forefront of artistic news. — and to stand out from the two other major fairs — that of the National Society of Fine Arts and that of the Salon des Artistes Francais — which take place in the spring. The Salon d’Automne has precipitated the emergence of all the major artistic trends of the 20th century: Surrealism, Cubism, Abstraction, New Figuration, and Singular Art. It includes all the greatest names in modern painting, from Cézanne to Picasso, the Paris School, Dali, Zao Wou Ki and Antonio Manfredi (2014) or Moebius (2015). [various sources including https://www.salon-automne.com/en/historique]

My oil painting selected. To be included in the salon, an artist can only submit one photo of one artwork for jury consideration. Consequently, I am thrilled and honored that my submission, “Turning Point” of the CovidSkies 2021 oil painting series was selected for the Section: Figuration.

Salon D’Automne Paris 2022, Selected

Thrilled to be selected for the celebrated Salon d’Automne Paris to be held at La Grande Halle de la Villette from 21-23 Oct 2022 (vernissage: 20 Oct 2022). A very special feeling as there is only once chance to be selected by jury with only one painting.

A very special feeling to be selected for the celebrated 2022 Salon D'Automne Paris. It is very competitive and for an oil painter only one submission is allowed for consideration by jury for selection to be part of this celebrated Salon.

Established in 1903, this historical salon was organised as an independent exhibition to promote the avant-garde and the innovative ideas of their time across the arts. It has precipitated the emergence of the most important artistic movements of the 20th century, Fauvism, Surrealism, Cubism, Abstract Art, New Figuration, Singular Art etc.

Since its inception, works by artists such as Paul Cézanne, Henri Matisse, Paul Gauguin, Georges Rouault, André Derain, Albert Marquet, Jean Metzinger, Albert Gleizes and Marcel Duchamp have been shown.

The autumn season for the exhibition was strategic in several ways: it not only allowed artists to exhibit canvases painted outside (en plein air) during the summer, it stood out from the other two large salons (the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts and Salon des Artistes Français) which took place in the spring.

Where? While in recent years, the Salon has been held on the Champs Elysée, this year it will be held at the Grande Halle de la Villette.

When? 21-23 October 2022 (vernissage: 20 October 2022)
