February Art Events [2 Distinctions]

Two art events. Two distinctions for two equine paintings. One extraordinary month to start 2026.

The Lunar Year of the Fire Horse has begun at full steam. 🔥🐴
And for me, it’s personal—1966 is my own lunar year—and it’s been an amazing start to this new year.

The month began with wonderful news: I was honored to receive a Special Mention Award at the Galerie Thuillier Prix du Jury event on February 3, for my monochromatic oil painting "Blue Belle."

Then, on February 14, "Curious Connection" received a Mention from the jury of Le Salon des Artistes Francais (Art Capital 2026) — a milestone moment for me. https://www.artcapital.fr https://www.artistes-francais.com

Suite à la sélection par jury d’une de mes toiles à l'huile équine pour le Salon des Artistes Français au Grand Palais, Paris 8eme en 2020, 2021 et 2022, ce mois-ci, j'ai l'honneur d'être promu membre associé de la SOCIETE DES ARTISTES FRANÇAIS (section : peinture).

 Cette Société est née en 1881 à la demande de l'Etat de France qui voulait que le Salon historique, créé sous Louis XIV dans les années 1660, soit désormais organisé par les artistes. A partir de 1901, le GRAND PALAIS, conçu et construit par des artistes, tous sociétaires, devient le lieu du Salon et de l'association. Le Salon organisé chaque février au Grand Palais a réuni les artistes les plus célèbres de chaque époque.

[ 🇺🇸  Following the selection by jury of one of my equine oil paintings for the Salon des Artistes Français at the Grand Palais, Paris 8th (2020, 2021 and 2022), this month, I have the honor to have been promoted to member of the SOCIETY OF FRENCH ARTISTS (section: painting).

 This Society was born in 1881 at the request of the State of France which wanted the historical Salon, created under Louis XIV in the 1660s, to be henceforth organized by the artists. From 1901, the GRAND PALAIS, designed and built by artists, all members, became the venue for the Salon and the association.  The Salon held each February at the Grand Palais has included the most famous artists of each era.]

February 2022 Art Events

If you are looking for interesting art events during the wintery month of February in the Paris region, then here are some very interesting ones to visit.

• Art et Matières 91 (Essonne) – 29 Jan to 6 Feb 2022. An annual event held in five different towns in the Essonne department: different locations with different artists and themes. My equine artwork is on display at the Maisse location (centre culturel Robert Dumas) with other painters and sculptures. •  Galerie Thuillier Prix du Jury (Marais Paris) – 4 to 7 Feb 2022. An invitation only event …. different artists are permitted to display 1-2 artwork(s). Vernissage Tuesday 8 Feb from 6pm with the prize giving at 7:30pm.  It is just right down the street from the Picasso Museum.  Come and see which painting to be displayed …. You will not have seen this painting yet as it is fresh-off-the-easel! 

• Salon des Artistes Francais / Art Capital Paris 2022 (Grand Palais Ephemere) – 16 to 20 Feb 2022. An art event NOT to miss ! Four different salons with over 2000 artists. I am thrilled to have been selected by the Society for the Salon des Artistes Français for the third year in the row.  Tickets can be purchased at the link below. Salon des Artistes Francais 2022 (Sélectionnée)

[🇫🇷]  Un très bon départ d'année 2022. Je suis ravie que mon tableau à l’huile « Bowie » crée en 2021 a été sélectionné pour le « Salon des Artistes Français » dans le cadre de ART CAPITAL PARIS 2022 au Grand Palais Éphémère programmé du 16 au 20 février 2022.  Il est la troisième année consécutive d’avoir été sélectionnée pour cet incroyable événement au Grand Palais.

  [🇺🇸]  A wonderful start to 2022. I am so delighted that my oil painting “Bowie” (2021) was selected for the “Salon des Artistes Français” as part of ART CAPITAL PARIS 2022 to be held at the Grand Palais Éphémère (16-20 February 2022).  It is the third consecutive year to be selected for this incredible event at the Grand Palais.

Art Capital 2020

An amazing experience to be selected for this prestigious annual event by Société des Artistes Français at a beautiful location, under the big glass roof of the Grand Palais as part of Art Capital 2020.

230e Salon des Artistes Français

Le 230eme Salon des Artistes Français dans le cadre d’Art Capital 2020 commence aujourd’hui avec le vernissage et il est ouvert au public du 12-16 février 2020. Profitez à venir de cette belle occasion sous la nef du Grand Palais des Champs-Elysées – Paris, la plus grande verrière d'Europe, avant de la fermeture en décembre 2020 jusqu’au mars 2023, pour une réouverture avant les JO 2024.

 Art Capital est le rassemblement annuel incontournable des artistes et talents de France avec 4 Salons : le Salon des Artistes Français, le Salon des Indépendants, le Salon du Dessin et Peinture à l'eau et le Salon Comparaisons.  Un rendez-vous à ne pas manquer pour les amoureux de l'art contemporain.

Je suis ravie que mon œuvre d’art. “Blue Coat” (2018), a été sélectionnée par le Jury pour le Salon des Artistes Français sous le cadre de cet grand événement annuel.

 Ouverture publique du mercredi 12 au dimanche 16 février: Mercredi, vendredi et dimanche de 11h à 20h, Jeudi et samedi de 11h à 21h. Il faut acheter les billets sur le site (veuillez consulter le lien d’Art Capital 2020 ci-dessous.)

Vernissage le mardi 11 février de 15h à 22h (exclusivement sur invitation).

[The 230th Salon des Artistes Français as part of Art Capital 2020 starts from today with a vernissage and is open to the public from 12-16 February 2020. It is a wonderful opportunity to come to this exceptional event in the nave of the Grand Palais des Champs-Elysées – Paris, the biggest glass roof in Europe, before its closing for renovation from December 2020 to March 2023, re-opening for the Summer Olympics 2024.

 Art Capital is a must-see art event in France for those that love contemporary art with 4 Salons: le Salon des Artistes Français, le Salon des Indépendants, le Salon du Dessin et Peinture à l'eau et le Salon Comparaisons.

I am thrilled that my oil painting, “Blue Coat” (2018), was selected by the Jury for the Salon des Artistes Français as part of this major annual event.

 Open to the public from Wednesday 12 Feb to Sunday 16 Feb: Wednesday, Friday and Sunday (11am-8pm), Thursday and Saturday (11am-9pm) . Entry requires a purchased ticket (please see the URL link below to purchase online).

 Vernissage is today Tuesday 11 Feb (3-10pm)     (invitation only).
