April — Spring in Motion

April opened in Versailles at the Biennale Versaillaise, where I exhibited ‘Versailles à Cheval ‘— in the very town that hosted the Paris 2024 Olympic equestrian events and loved catching up with fellow artists and collectors at Carré de la Farine.

Received the official Certificate of Distinction ‘Mention’ issued by the jury of Salon des Artistes Francais at Art Capital, held in the Grand Palais Paris (Feb 2026). What an honour to be selected for this prestigious Paris Salon and the further recognition: a deeply meaninful milestone in my journey since returning to painting in 2017.

Since Galerie 39 Barbizon, I’ve been busy in the studio working on a large-scale project to be unveiled in June. More exciting news to come in May. Stay tuned 🎨

As a result, little new work has appeared recently, aside from Chailly Spring (Chailly-en-Bière)—a small painting begun during the Galerie 39 Barbizon exhibition in February. After so many grey winter days, I wanted to bring some sunshine indoors, inspired by the vivid yellow rapeseed fields (colza 🇫🇷) surrounding Barbizon in April 🌼 , with a quiet hidden equine presence for the viewer to discover. 😉

What else?

Following my acceptance into Oil Painters of America at the end of 2025, that artistic momentum has continued into 2026 with my acceptance as a member of Fondation Taylor (Paris). I am very grateful to my two sponsors for supporting my submission to the Foundation’s Committee.

Founded in 1844, Fondation Taylor is one of France’s historic artist institutions, supporting artists through exhibitions, publications, and grants. This marks an important step in my journey as an artist.

Le Salon d’Automne 2025 [Paris Art show]

Paris in autumn is always an invitation to visit especially art events including le Salon d’Automne, founded in 1903 … a vibrant celebration of contemporary art.

This year, the Salon takes centre stage right at Place de la Concorde, transforming the heart of Paris into an immense open space for artistic expression. Over 1,000 artists representing 48 nationalities will present their work across 4,000 square metres, welcoming more than 30,000 visitors over five days. It’s not only an exhibition — it’s a meeting place where painters, sculptors, photographers, and collectors share in the energy of the creative world.

Throughout the week, there is a program of cultural events and performances to animate the Salon — reinforcing its mission to make art accessible to all. Every artwork shown is available for acquisition, offering collectors the chance to engage directly with the artists behind each piece.

I’m proud to be selected once again for this exceptional event and to be part of this living tradition, surrounded by so many remarkable contemporary artists, is an honor and a joy.

If you find yourself in Paris during these dates, I warmly invite you to come experience the Salon d’Automne in all its color and cultural vitality — right at the very heart of the city.

L’histoire du Salon d’Automne

Le Salon d'Automne est un événement d’art historique à Paris …créée le 31 octobre 1903 au Petit Palais Paris … une exposition indépendante pour promouvoir l'avant-garde et les idées novatrices de l'époque. Le choix de l'automne comme saison de présentation est stratégique à plus d'un titre : il permet aux artistes de présenter les petits formats réalisés en extérieur au cours de l'été — en se plaçant ainsi à la pointe de l'actualité artistique — et de se démarquer des deux autres grands salons — celui de la  Société nationale des beaux-arts et celui des Salon des Artistes Français — qui ont lieu au printemps (ca va dire, en février).  Le Salon d’Automne a précipité l’émergence de tous les grands courants artistiques du XXe siècle : Surréalisme, Cubisme, Abstraction, Nouvelle Figuration, Art Singulier. “Butterfly Effect 3” equine art oil painting, Section: Figuration (sector 76-80)

[🇫🇷] Un ‘petit moment’ a passé depuis mes deniers nouveaux mais suite un accident important en mars, la suite deux chirurgies (cheville cassé et ligament genou), une visite aux USA pendant 5 semaines pour les raisons familiales et urgents et, en plus, quelques expositions pendant l’été … j’ai été vraiment débordée. Mon silence n’a pas été pour rien parce qu’il y aura une dizaine de toiles à l’huile qui vont sortir avant fin 2024. Je vais communiquer en plus bientôt. Je promis !

Entre temps, je suis au septième ciel que mon grand tableau «Butterfly Effect 3» a été sélectionnée pour le 121e Salon d’Automne Paris.

« Butterfly Effect 3» n’a pas été facile à réaliser étant donné sa taille et j’avais jambe était immobilisée de mi-mars à juillet suite 2 chirurgies. Mon tableau à l’huile art équin célèbre ‘ma Barbizon’. J'ai hâte de le partager avec vous au Salon (Section : Figuration, sector 76 - 80).

 [🇺🇸]  It's been awhile since my last news but following a serious accident in March, two surgeries (ankle and knee ligament), a visit to the USA for 5 weeks for urgent family reasons and exhibitions during the summer …I was really overwhelmed! My silence has not been for nothing because 10+ new oil paintings will be released before the end of 2024. I will communicate more on this new work soon. I promise!

In the meantime, I am over-the-moon that my large painting “Butterfly Effect 3” was selected for the 121st Le Salon d'Automne Paris.

« Butterfly Effect 3» was a CHALLENGE to create given its large size and the fact that my leg was immobilised from mid-March to July following 2 surgeries. My equine art oil painting celebrates ‘my Barbizon’. I look forward to sharing it with you at the Salon (Section : Figuration, sector 76 - 80).

Paris and athleticism, new paintings

 [🇺🇸 I am WAY BEHIND in communication and REALLY sorry about that! I may be off horses following the March accident but been VERY busy in the art studio prepping for two July Art Shows (Galerie Thuillier Paris 3 from 19 July and Galerie 39 Barbizon-77 from 24 July).

Here are 3 new paintings celebrating the beauty of the Paris region with sporting elegance and a fun set of colors. 😊 🎨

The common thread across all 3 paintings? Colorful Beauty in Motion.

1. Versailles à Cheval (100x81cm)… An EPIC project like 5 paintings in one and covering my favorite subjects, horses in 3 disciplines and the vast skies, and Versailles with the Apollo Fountain water feature setting the scene.   As an equine enthusiast, horse owner and equestrian, I could not resist creating this painting being the first in the series. It also includes one of my favorite colors, Williamsburg Cerulean Blue 💙

2. « Rhythmic Flare » (55x46cm) Artistry meets athleticism. Nothing like springtime in Paris with a splash of Eiffel Tower cherry blossoms to put a kick into the air with rhythmic gymnastics. I have always enjoyed gymnastics. When I was young I wanted to be active on the Middle School Gymnastics team. Well that did NOT happen as parents would have NONE of it as they did not want me to break something that could stop my training on piano and violin. It was the same reason why I could not ride horses. Rhythmic gymnastics has that added element (like a ribbon). I love the fluid motion combining gymnastics that makes a pleasure to paint 💫

3. « Aquatic Flare » (55x46cm) … Powerful yet graceful precision flying through air to land with a VERY tiny splash in the water 💦. The synchronized diving with 2 divers is equally STUNNING ! 😀 🌟  It brings me back to the day when I was little learning to dive off the 1m springboard and 3meter platform diving boards with my "coach", my grandfather  ❤️

 Every canvas starts with an inspiration (an idea, a color, a style) but converting that imagery into something physically tangible is a leap. The ideas are there.  I wanted some detail but also have fun. The colors were playing around in my head .. but converting the ideas through color to canvas can be the challenge. Did I capture it or lose it in translation? Too much color? Too much or not enough detail? Also, EVERYBODY knows each of these Paris locations so it is key to get it right.

There was also the challenge of Versailles restoration, which refreshed the real life colors of the Apollo Fountain and the Royal Chapel.

For painting style … I wanted a bit more freedom with less precision and more splashes of color to express a feeling : splendor of horses at Versailles, the playful movement of the gymnast through the ribbon to the Eiffel Tower, and the arc of a diver soaring over the Parisian landscape of the Pont Alexander III connecting Rive Gauche/ Rive Droite of the Seine with the backdrop of the elegant Grand Palais.
