On this day preparations were under way for Route de Poisson 2022 celebrating French history when French draft horses delivered fresh fish from Boulogne-sur-mer to Paris restaurants before the invention of the railroad.

The Boulonnais is now a rare French horse draft breed. Known as the “white marble horse” this majestic creature is at risk of disappearing and the Route de Poisson event (prepared in 2021 for Paris 2022 event) was to bring awareness to the risk of losing the French draft breeds.
