Thank you for your support in 2019 and wishing you a beautiful holiday season.
Since my September Autumn Newsletter, I have been busy working on several oil paintings including a commission, and recently participating at the annual Salon International Animal Art Paris (November 2019).
It is at this time of year that we look back and, for me, 2019 was a busy fruitful second full year back in front of the easel, meeting new people, and expanding my art world.
I would like to thank you very much for your support and sending you best wishes for a lovey holiday season.

Salon des Artistes Francais / Art Capital 2020: selectionnée
Delighted to announce my oil painting, “Blue Coat”, has been selected for the Salon “Société des Artistes Français” for Art Capital 2020 at the Grand Palais (12-16 Feb 2020).
Very pleased to announce that « Blue Coat » 81x65cm oils on linen painting was selected by the jury of the “Société des Artistes Français” for their 230th Salon as part of Art Capital 2020 to be held at the Grand Palais from 12-16 February 2020 (vernissage by invitation to be held on Tuesday 11 February 2020).

It was a wonderful event with the animal art community, and I enjoyed meeting new artists and the visitors to the show, especially the little kiddies! It was a very busy “Avant Premier” and “Vernissage” followed by a weekend with no snow (yes), a day at the races on Saturday, and a beautiful Sunday with sun shining on the beautiful autumnal setting at Hippodrome d’Auteuil.

Chaque tirage est fait sur une basse de photographe professionnel avec une calibration avant impressive définitive. Le tirage est une taille A3 sur papier « Fine Art » 100% coton norme musée ISO 9706. L’impression est au format 29x35cm avec quelques millimetres de marge en haut et quelques centimetres sur les côtes, qui permet à la fois de manipuler les tirages et de pouvoir les encadrer avec une Marie-Louise (format complet est en taille A3). New 100x81 cm oils on linen painting finished and will be on display at the Salon International Animal Art Paris 2019 at Hippodrome d’Auteuil from 15-17 Nov 2019 (vernissage Thurs 14 Nov from 5-10pm). It was inspired by attending the international horse reining competition at Bo Ranch (La Chappelle La Reine), capturing Wimpys Little Chees running the pattern in the new state-of-the-art indoor ring. There was so much movement to play with through color and under the sunlight coming through the roof of the arena that created a magical gold mist trailing the galloping horse that I wanted to capture on canvas.

Autumn 2019 Newsletter
Thank you for those who were able to make it to my art exposition at Barbizon and to see me at my art on exhibit at Bo Ranch, La Chapelle La Reine in September. Since then, I have been busy wrapping up a new painting… when I am not at the stables or at horse shows. Next art exposition will be the 9thSalon International Animal Art Paris at Hippodrome d’Auteuil 15-18 November 2019. Stay tuned for further information.
Since end of summer it has been pretty busy with a couple of art expositions, a new painting and weekly training at the stables / attending a few showjumping competitions so thought it was a good moment to share what I have been up to lately.
Recent art expositions
First I wanted to say “thank you” to those of you who were able to make it to my Art Equestre Expositionwith Cedrio Mion at Galerie 39 (Barbizon 77630) in early September. I enjoy exhibiting my artwork at Galerie 39 as it is a great opportunity to meet new people in a picturesque village and able to paint while at the gallery, which creates interest/intrigue from the street to see painting “live”. I plan to be back there again end of August next year (as in the past 2 years).
Following Galerie 39, I headed over to for my art exhibit at Bo Ranch(La Chapelle La Reine, 77760) for their grand opening and first international reining horse show in mid September. It was great to be a part of their opening events, meet new people, see Quarter Horse breed in full action, and to feel the passion for the sport shared by participants and spectators. It was full of energy in a wonderful state-of-the art setting. It was also a great opportunity for me to take some photos that will be my reference for my next oil painting that I will be starting this week.
New oil painting fresh off the easel
Following these exciting events, I have been able to finish the oil painting that I started at the Galerie 39 exposition. “Red Bar”, a 92x73cm oils on linen painting, is finished and was on display at the CSI international horse show Barbizon this past weekend. It is now back in Paris for final tweeks and varnish.
So what is next?
I plan on one more painting in advance of my next art exposition at the 9thSalon International Animal Art Paris at Hippodrome d’Auteuil 15-18 November 2019. The painting will be based on my photos taken at Bo Ranch in Sept 2019 and will likely be the last in the equine series as I focus on other subject matter for paintings from December into winter 2020.

Looking forward to the official opening of Bo Ranch installation and the international reining competition from 10-15 Sept 2019. As a spectator and exhibitor, hoping to see you there! It is sure to be a very exciting dynamic event and to see the Quarter Horse breed in full action at this stunning new venue. My artwork will be located in the indoor exhibitors area with new artwork on display. Yeeeeee-hah!
Exposition Arts Equestre, Barbizon
Final preparations underway for an exciting upcoming “Arts Equestre” exposition at Galerie 39 (39 Grande Rue, Barbizon,77630) in partnership with @cedricmion (professional photographer, specialising in equine photography) from 28 August – 10 Sept 2019.
Getting set for the “Arts Equestre” expositionat Galerie 39 in beautiful Barbizon, “villages des peintres” just 50km south of Paris: 39 Grande Rue, Barbizon,77630. The exposition will take place from 28 August – 10 Sept 2019 in partnership with @cedricmion. I am looking forward to this exciting event with new artwork on display and a new creation under development. I am really pleased to be sharing the venue with Cedric, a fabulous professional photographer who captures the gentle beauty and elegance of the horse and its relationship with people. Cedric graduated from the Ecole Supérieure de Photographie in Paris and winner of the Council of Europe Prize in 2013, specialized in the portrait of horses.
“Reining Spin v. 2019” finished
A snip-it of another new painting just finished in advance of the upcoming art expositions at Galerie 39 from 28 Aug – 10 Sept (Barbizon, 77630) and International Reining Show from 10-15 Sept (Bo Ranch, La Chapelle La Reine).
New 100x80 cm oils on linen painting finished with a focus on the Reining spin. A very technical move that demonstrates the power, grace and precision of the American Quarter Horse. Looking forward to displaying it from 28 Aug - 10 Sept at Galerie 39 (Barbizon, France) and 10-15 Sept at the International Reining Competition being held at Bo Ranch (La Chapelle La Reine, France), which inspired the background of this painting.

"Stop v. 2019" finished
A snip-it of a new painting just finished in advance of the upcoming art expositions at Galerie 39 from 28 Aug – 10 Sept (Barbizon, 77630) and International Reining Show from 10-15 Sept (Bo Ranch, La Chapelle La Reine).
Excited about the new painting just finished as it was a change in focus…painting a subject in a different high-powered equestrian discipline, Reining, in advance of some exciting upcoming art expositions. This is an 100x73cm oils on linen painting of Wimpys Little Colonel. Thank you Cam Essick for the use of the stunning reference photo capturing the 2009 Quarter Horse Stallion / 2013 NRBC Reserve Champion performing the reining sliding stop. An amazing movement portrayed with an intense splash of color and play on light.

Acardi du Houssoit Z finished
A snip-it of a new painting now drying. Loved this for the sheer movement and fun of painting a white horse!
With end of school year and horse shows had little time so a bit behind. Very excited to have finished “Acardi du Houssoit Z” 100x80cm oils on linen painting, which was on show as a “draft” at the June 2019 Masterpro Horse Show at Fontainebleau. I love this size canvas as have more freedom to use color and light with brushwork to bring out the movement. I wanted to to capture the surge / power clearing a wide 1.60 meter height over through light and colour. White is never white. Inspired by a Ben Radvanyi photo.

ExposMasterPro Concours Fontainebleau
All set up for the Exposition at the June 2019 MasterPro French Championship CSO at Le Grand Parquet Fountainebleau. Thank you for the setup @CedricMion (photographe équestre).
20-22 June MasterPro Concours de Saut d’Obstacles (French Championship) is this weekend at Le Grand Parquet, Fontainebleau. The weather is forecasted to be beautiful so perfect to come and watch the riders-horses compete in classes up to 1.50meter, walk across the beautiful grounds and shop all things equestrian!
One of my new original oil paintings in progress will be on exposition there with Cedric Mion (photographe équestre, Fontainebleau). If I am not at the exposition tent (under the trees by Carriere des Princes), you may see me at the warm up rings or ringside.

Come see the June 2019 MasterPro French Championship CSO at Le Grand Parquet Fountainebleau. See you there either at the show ring or at my exhibit with @CedricMion (photographe équestre) with one of my new paintings.
20-22 June MasterPro Concours de Saut d’Obstacles (French Championship) is next weekend at Le Grand Parquet, Fontainebleau. A love horse show with show jumping up to the 1.50meter classes for the Pro Elite in a beautiful setting with shops / boutiques and refreshments to pass the time away.
One of my new original oil paintings will be on exposition there with Cedric Mion (photographe équestre, Fontainebleau). If I am not at the exposition tent (under the trees by Carriere des Princes), I will either in the saddle warming up the horses or watching my daughter in the show ring with our mares.

This is a large format 100x80cm oils on linen portrait / commissioned painting just finished for a US client. Loved painting the Scottish landscape and wild clouds. This is a snip-it of the original painting. It was a bit of a challenge to get the photo of the painting to capture fully the colors and the contrasting lights / darks. Portrait finished : Fontainebleau series
Oil painting portrait of Bowie de la Mure on the Petit Parquet (Fontainebleau 2018) is finished and will be on display at Jump Bost horse show (Barbizon) 16-17 March.
Thrilled to finish my next oil painting. It is to be part of my Fontainebleau series of oil paintings on location at the Grand Parquet. Fontainebleau, which hosts both national and international horse shows each year, is a beautiful setting to capture equine moments. This is a portrait of Bowie de la Mure ridden by my daughter on the Petit Parquet in 2018 based on a personal photo. I wanted to capture Bowie’s beautiful movement dancing across the Petit Parquet before the clear round performance. The painting also depicts Le Petit Parquet grass footing: a decision was taken in 2018 to convert Le Petit Parquet to sand footing for the 2019 show season.
