Happy New Year 2022

During 2021, we continued to experience complications as a result of the pandemic which equally had an impact on the art world notably in the cancellation of art events, amongst other things.  For me, I focused on new paintings that enabled me to evolve artistically including two series of oil paintings: “equine art, head studies” and “CovidSkies” skyscapes celebrating the magnificent skies we observed in 2020. 

During the year, I was delighted to be selected for the 2nd consecutive year for the Salon des Artistes Français (Feb 2021) and to be invited by the Academy Jacques BOITIAT for the Grand Prix of Barbizon (Oct 2021) as well as the equine art festival OFFCHEVAL in SAUMUR France (Fall 2021). I also had the opportunity to be accepted to the Paard Verzameld Collective: an active group of 100+ international equine artists that is part of the international equine art gallery, Paard Verzameld (The Netherlands). It was also very nice to receive various awards for my 2021 equine art / skyscape paintings via international online art competitions hosted by Fusion Art Palm Springs CA, Grey Cube Gallery et LightSpaceTime. 

In the end 2021 was a very fruitful year.

2022 planning is currently in the works and as you would expect it includes new paintings notably two 2022 oil paintings series dedicated to equine art and nature, and art events to come such as: 

• Jan 2022 - Arts et Matiere 91, Animal Art, Boigneville FR  (29 Jan – 6 Feb), and

• Feb 2022 - Salon des Artistes Français as part of Art Capital, Grand Palais Ephemere (3rd consecutive year from 16-20 Feb.)

Bonne Année 2022

Pendant l’année 2021, on a continué à avoir les moments compliqués à cause de la pandémie qui a également eu un impact sur le monde de l'art, notamment l'annulation d'événements artistiques entre autres choses. Pour moi, je me suis focalisée sur mes œuvres ce qui m’a permis d’évoluer particulièrement sur deux séries de peintures à l'huile : l'art équin « d’études de tête» et «CovidSkies» célébrant les ciels magnifiques dont on a vu en 2020.

Durant l’année, j’étais ravie d’avoir été sélectionnée pour la deuxième année consécutive au Salon des Artistes Français (fev. 2021) et d’être aussi invitée par l’Académie de Jacques BOITIAT pour le Grand Prix de Barbizon (oct 2021) ainsi que l’estival d’art OFFCheval « hors les murs » à SAUMUR (automne 2021). J’ai aussi eu l’opportunité d’être acceptée par le Paard Verzameld Collective : un groupe de 100+ artistes équins du monde entier qui fait aussi partie de la galerie internationale d’art équin (Paard Verzameld Gallery, au Pays-Bas). 

En outre, j’étais heureuse d’avoir reçu plusieurs prix pour certains de mes tableaux crée en 2021 (Concours d’art internationales : Fusion Art Palm Springs CA, Grey Cube Gallery et LightSpaceTime). 

 A la fin 2021 a été une très bonne année.

Pour moi, le calendrier de planification 2022 est en cours.  2022 envisage des créations d’art incluant deux nouvelles séries de peintures à l'huile dédiés à l’art équin et la nature, et des événements d’art à venir y compris :

• janvier 2022 - Arts et Matière 91, Art Animalier, Boigneville FR (29 jan – 6 fév), et

• février 2022, Salon des Artistes Français dans le cadre d'Art Capital, Grand Palais Éphémère (3eme année consécutive du 16 au 20 fev.).

November Animal Art Shows

The art show theme for November is Animal Art.

The presentation of my equine art paintings at OFFCheval hors les murs à SAUMUR (49) continues at Distillerie Combier until 30 November.

Meanwhile and closer to Paris, 3 of my paintings are on display at Animaux et Symbols”, Halle Mandela (Longjumeau 91) from 13 November to 5 December with weekend viewing by the public and hosted by Galerie Roz in Winter of Barbizon.

Currently and for this weekend only… 10th edition of Animal Art Paris at Hippodrome d’Auteuil (Paris 16th). A beautiful locatioN with 50 artists celebrating animal art. Wonderful diversity in style and themes including paintings, sculptures, ink drawings and other craftmanship. A lovely way to spend a beautiful weekend afternoon. I am there all weekend presenting my more recent equine artwork

A Very Busy October!

October was full of horse shows and art shows …and in free time working on the atelier on new paintings.

I was thrilled to be selected by the Academy BIOTIAT for the 55th Grand Prix de Barbizon. I presented two of my equine art paintings. It was equally exciting to be selected as one of 33 artists to present at OFFCheval hors les murs in SAUMUR (my paintings are on display at Distillerie Combier until 30 November).

Meanwhile my CovidSkies series skyscapes were on display at Galerie Thuillier “Salon d’Automne” from 29 October - 11 November.

2 Art shows, 2 locations, 2 themes (Region Gâtinais - end Aug 2021)

[ 🇫🇷] Pendant les deux semaines prochaines, je vais participer aux deux expositions d’art, au 2 endroits différentes et sous 2 thèmes (équine art et la nature). Je vais aussi faire 2 démonstrations d’art. 

·      Expo d’Art Équestre, Galerie 39, Barbizon (24 aôut – 5 Sept 2021). 

·      Salon d’Art, Centre Culturel, Saint-Pierre-Lès-Nemours (27-29 aôut 2021).

Les deux expositions d’art sont situées dans le beau région Gâtinais que 50km de Paris (région Fontainebleau). 

Entrée gratuite et dans le respect des mesures sanitaires.

Venez à dire bonjour, de parler et de partager le bonheur à Galerie 39, et faire rencontre d’autres artistes locaux de toutes techniques au Salon d’Art.

[🇺🇸] Busy bee in the upcoming two weeks. I will be participated at two art shows with two different themes (equine art and nature). I will also be doing live art demonstrations at both locations. 

·      Expo d’Art Èquestre (equine art), Galerie 39, Barbizon (24 Aug – 5 Sept 2021). 

·      Salon d’Art, Centre Culturel, Saint-Pierre-lès-Nemours (27-29 Aug 2021).

The two art shows are located in the beautiful Gâtinais region 50 km from Paris (Fontainebleau region). 

Free entry and will be following the current sanitary protocols. 

Come say hello, see the new paintings at Expo d’Art Equestrian and, at Salon d’Art, meet other local artists using different artistic techniques. 

2 Honorable Mentions “Blue” (Aug 2021)

Thrilled that both “BlueBelle”, my new #monochromatic ultramarine blue oil painting, and “Blue Coat” (2018) were awarded Honorable Mention in the Grey Cube Gallery Aug 2021 “Blue” international online art competition. 

The show included a range of artistic styles and mediums (e.g., oil on canvas, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and photography). The submissions were judged on artistic expression including originality, quality, and interpretation. Out of all entries, 155 artworks were shortlisted for inclusion in the show.

Both paintings will be on display at #galerie39barbizon from 24 Aug - 5 Sept.

3e Exposition d’Art Equestre

[ 🇫🇷] Je suis ravie de vous accueillir à mon exposition. Je vous présenterai mes œuvres d'arts de nouveaux,  y compris des études fait à l’huile en petit format, dédiées au monde du cheval dans le beau village de Barbizon sous le soleil d’été et autours les arbres de la foret Fontainebleau.

 Je vais aussi travailler dans la galerie en réalisation d'un tableau pendant toute la durée de l'exposition, qui est toujours intéressants particulièrement pour les enfants à voir comment on le fait. 

Entrée gratuite. La visite de la galerie se fera dans le respect des mesures sanitaires.

[🇺🇸] I am delighted to host a solo exhibition. I will be presenting new oil paintings, as well as some fun smaller format oil studies, dedicated to the horse world in the beautiful village of Barbizon under the summer sun and surrounded by the fabulous trees of the Fontainebleau Forest.

I will also be working on a new oil painting in the gallery during the art exhibition, which is always fun especially for the children to see how it is done. 

Free admission. The visit of the gallery will be done in compliance with sanitary measures.

 Fusion Art Announces the Winners of the 5th Annual Skies Art Exhibition 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 5, 2021 (Palm Springs, CA) 

Fusion Art is pleased to announce the opening of the 5th Annual Skies International Art Exhibition. The exhibition is now available for viewing on the Fusion Art website and features awards in three categories: Traditional Art, Digital Art & Photography and 3-Dimensional Art. 

For this exhibition, both 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, were invited to submit their best art and photography depicting the Skies. All artists, regardless of location or experience, were encouraged to submit their best work in any media. 

The 5th Annual Skies Best in Show winners are Christine O'Dell-Ferguson for her acrylic, “Dancing Solo” and Meg Wall-Wild for her photograph, ”Pacifica”. Christine and Meg are Fusion Art’s Featured Artists for the month of August 2021 and, as the Best in Show winners, both artists are invited to participate in Fusion Art's Annual Group Show in Palm Springs, California in March 2022. 

Other award winners include Second Place winners, Sylvia Audet and Meg Wall-Wild. Third Place awards were given to Kathleen Bennett and Zephyr Ivanisi. Fourth Place awards were given to Lessa Clayton and Garret Demarest. Fifth Place awards were given to David Gallegos and Nancy Sloane. 

Rounding out the awards for the exhibition are twelve Honorable Mention winners. Honorable Mention awards in the Traditional Art category were given to Oscar P Vance, Merana Cadorette, Robert Padovano, Cocoa Huang, Tobi Star Abrams and Jeannine Flower. 

Honorable Mention awards in the Photography & Digital category were given to Stuart Chape, Buffy Davis, Daniel Horowitz, Monty Orr, Elizabeth Kayl and Diane Liguori. 

The remaining finalists in the exhibition all exemplified uniquely creative talents and we are honored to showcase their artwork on the Fusion Art website. 

The international competition received a diverse collection of quality artwork from artists all around the world, including the US, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, 

Italy, France, Israel, Taiwan, China and Ireland. Overall, the gallery judged 357 entries and accepted 130 artworks into the exhibition, which will be featured on the website for the month of August. 

Founded by Award winning artist, Chris and Valerie Hoffman, Fusion Art was envisioned and formed out of a passion for art and the artists who create it. The website promotes and connects new, emerging and established artists with collectors and art enthusiasts, while offering the opportunity to participate in art competitions, exhibitions and experiences.

June 2021 Newsletter [French]

L'été est bien arrivé! Le monde commence à ré-ouvrir lentement … mais seul le temps nous le dira (croisons les doigts).

Des événements d’art  Depuis ma dernière exposition d'art en février 2021, je n'ai participé à aucune exposition compte tenu des changements de planning suite le confinement 3 en France. Mais entre temps, je me suis amusée à réaliser une vidéo pour une semaine Art PR « Takeover » sur Instagram en avril avec Agence Beatrice Martini PR (relations presse pour le Salon des Artistes Français). 

J'ai aussi eu un article de 4 pages dans le numéro de mai 2021 de Bit Magazine (Benelux), le plus grand magazine équestre dans la régionne. Je le partagerai le dès que le prochain numéro sortira.

Alors, quelle est la suite ? Il y a des expositions d'art à la Galerie 39 Barbizon (23 août – 5 septembre) et à Saint-Pierre-Les Nemours (27-29 août). Je suis également ravie de vous annoncer que j'ai été sélectionné par l'Académie Jacques BOITIAT pour participer au 55ème GRAND PRIX DE BARBIZON prévu le 9 octobre 2021. Récompenses récentes. . …

En avril 2021, j'étais finaliste du concours d'art international «Skies» de la Grey Cube Gallery Online avec mon premier tableau de la séries CovidSkies (No.1 Barbizon Sunset), qui a déjà été vendu.

À l’atelier…

J'ai récemment crée 2 nouvelles peintures de la série CovidSkies ("Turning Point" et "2020" à l'huile de 51x65cm). 3 nouvelles toiles sont en cours pour la fin du mois dont 2 sont d’un mètre donc ils prennent plus de temps. Il y a aussi d'autres tableaux en préparation, notamment 2 autres dans la série de CovidSkies et quelques commandes.

Quoi d’autre?

J'ai également été occupée avec le Paard Verzameld Collective :  participant à une Masterclass Caravaggio Clair Obscur (avril) et à quelques défis d’art (dont avril « Klimt - Patterns », dessin au crayon aquarelle ; et juin « Variations of One » monochrome avec panneau de toile). Chaque défi est basé sur un thème artistique avec le cheval comme un sujet et se termine en une semaine…. donc pas de temps à perdre ! J'ai également participé au Bit Magazine Concours pour la couverture du magasine (Benelux), l'huile sur panneau de toile pour laquelle ma pièce a été sélectionnée dans la liste finale et en attente des résultats.

C'est tout pour le moment. Passez un bel été et au plaisir de vous voir et montrer mes nouvelles œuvres aux expositions d'art en août.

Summer has arrived and it is hot! The world is starting to re-open slowly … only time will tell (fingers crossed).

Art events and publications… Since my last art show in February 2021, I have not participated in any shows given scheduling changes due to French confinement 3 in the Spring.  That being said, I had a fun time making a video for an Art PR “Takeover” week on Instagram in April with Beatrice Martini PR Agency (press relations for Salon des Artistes Francais).  I also had a 4 page feature in Bit Magazine May 2021 issue, the largest equestrian magazine serving the Benelux region. I will be sharing that shortly but need to wait until the next issue is released.

What next? Art shows at Galerie 39 Barbizon (23 Aug – 5 Sept) and Saint-Pierre-Les Nemours (27-29 Aug). I am also excited to announce that I have been selected by the Academie Jacques BOITIAT to participate in the 55th Grand Prix de Barbizon scheduled for 9 October 2021. More information to come along with other art events in the pipeline so stay tuned for updates on my website or Instagram/facebook.

Recent awards. …

In April 2021, CovidSkies series (No.1 Barbizon Sunset) was a finalist in the Grey Cube Gallery Online International “Skies” Art Competition and is now in its new home with a very happy client.

New in the atelier …

2 new paintings have been recently completed in the CovidSkies series (“Turning Point” and “2020” both 51x65cm oil paintings). 3 new paintings are due out by the end of June of which 2 are over 1meter so take more time. There are also other exciting paintings in the pipeline, in particular, 2 more in the CovidSkies series and a few commissions

What else?

As a patron member of Paard Verzameld Collective (international gallery dedicated to equine art), I have also been busy participating in a Caravaggio Clair Obscur Masterclass (April) and a couple art challenges (April “Klimt – Patterns”, watercolor pencil drawing; and June “Variations of One” Monochromatic art challenge with an oil sketch on canvas panel). Each challenge is based on an art theme with an equine reference and is completed in one week ….so no time to waste! I also participated in the Bit Magazine Cover Competition, Benelux with an oil sketch on canvas panel for which my piece was one selected to the final list and currently waiting for the results.

Spring Art Show postponed to October 2021

[ 🇫🇷] Au cause de la crise sanitaire du Covid 19 et le confinement 3 en France, le salon du printemps qui devait se tenir du 16 au 29 avril 2021 à La Galerie Thuillier (Le Marais,  Paris 75003) a été reportée en octobre 2021. On sera ravie à vous voir à la galerie pour le « Salon de l’Automne 2021 » du 29 octobre au 11 novembre 2021.  Pendant ce temps, je suis occupée dans l'atelier avec quelques nouvelles toiles à l'huile intéressants qui vont apparaitre sur mon compte intragram / facebook (JCWFLOWERCREATIONS) dans les deux prochaines semaines.

[🇺🇸] Due to the Covid 19 health crisis and the 3rd confinement in France, the spring art exhibition set for April 16 to 29, 2021 at La Galerie Thuillier (Le Marais, Paris 75003) has been postponed to October 2021. Mars 2021 Newsletter [French]

Bonjour ! On commence de voir les jonquilles partout. Quel bonheur, le printemps arrive bientot.

Les évènements passés…

Pendant hiver, j’ai travaillé dans l'atelier (lorsque je ne monte pas à cheval). J'ai aussi eu le plaisir d'une exposition d'art avec Dominique JALLON (céramiste) et Cédric MION (photographe) à la Galerie 39, Barbizon pendant les vacances scolaires du 15 au 28 février avec de nombreux visiteurs et des temps magnifique. L'une de mes nouvelles peintures à l’huile de la série 2021 de « Covid Skies » a trouvé un nouveau foyer pour toujours et la démonstration artistique quotidienne en direct a été un succès, surtout auprès des enfants. 

Des nouvelles toiles et à venir…

Depuis l’exposition d’art, je suis à l'atelier.  Je viens de terminer la peinture à l’huile «Ciel d’hiver, Barbizon» 51 x 65 cm. En plus, il y a trois autres nouvelles peintures en cours dans le cadre de mes deux séries de peintures à l’huile 2021, «Covid Skies» et «Equine head studies». Les nouvelles peintures sont prévues pour l'exposition d'art au « Salon du Printemps » à Galerie Thuillier, 75003 Paris du 16 au 29 avril.

Quelque chose de nouveau!..

En tant que membre du collectif Paard Verzameld (galerie internationale dédiée à l'art équin), j'ai participé au défi artistique de mars sur le thème "éthéré". Comme il y avait une semaine pour le faire, j’ai mis à coté mes pinceaux à l’huile pour des crayons d'aquarelle et j'ai VRAIMENT apprécié ! J’ai fait une petite création de 22x29cm, "Passing Seasons", inspirée par mes promenades matinales d'automne dans la forêt de Fontainebleau. 

Le planning concernant des évènements d'art à venir n'est pas toujours claire mais entre-temps je continue de créer dans mon atelier d'art. 😊 🎨

Les Recent events…

I spent the winter working in the workshop (when I am not riding a horse). I also had the pleasure of an art exhibition with Dominique JALLON (ceramist) and Cédric MION (photographer) at Galerie 39, Barbizon during the school holidays from February 15 to 28 with many visitors and magnificent weather. One of my new oil paintings from the 2021 series of "Covid Skies" found a new home forever and the daily live art demonstration was a hit, especially with the children.

Des nouvelles New paintings and things to come...

I am currently back in the atelier. I have just wrapped up “Ciel d’hiver, Barbizon” 51 x 65cm oil painting. I also havethree other new paintings in the pipeline as part of my two 2021 series of oil paintings, “Covid Skies” and “Equine head studies”. The new paintings will be presented at “Le Salon du Printemp|” at Galerie Thuillier, Paris 75003 from 16 to 29 April.

Something new!

As a patron member of Paard Verzameld Collective (international gallery dedicated to equine art), I participated in the March art challenge based on a theme “ethereal”. Given there was a week to complete the challenge, I put aside my oil paint materials for watercolor pencils and LOVED working with them!  I completed a little 22x29cm piece, “Passing Seasons”, inspired by my autumn morning walks in the Fontainebleau forest. 

Planning for upcoming art events is not completely clear as of yet given the constraints with Covid but meanwhile I continue to work in art atelier. 😊 🎨

« Exposition d’hiver », Galerie 39 Barbizon (15-28 fev. 2021)

[🇫🇷] En cette période si particulière où l'art et la culture manquent cruellement de visibilité, j'aurai le grand plaisir de participer à une exposition qui se tiendra à la GALERIE 39 (39 Grande Rue à Barbizon). Vous trouverez en pièce jointe l'affiche annonçant l'événement.

Je présenterai mes œuvres d’art en compagnie de Dominique JALLON, céramiste, et du photographe Cédric MION. 

Comme vous le verrez sur l'affiche, nous avons adapté les heures d'ouvertures de la galerie aux contraintes qui nous sont imposées. I will present my oil paintings in the company of Dominique JALLON, ceramist, and photographer Cédric MION. We have adapted the gallery opening hours to respect the constraints imposed on us due to Covid with the “couvre-feu”. In order to allow the greatest number of visitors to come and discover (or rediscover!) our creations, we will be open every day without interruption from 10:30 am to 5:45 pm. Masks obligatory. We look forward to seeing you on this occasion in the beautiful village of Barbizon bordering on to the Fontainebleau forest during school holidays!

Salon des Artistes Français 2021 : Sélectionnée

[🇫🇷]  Je suis ravie que mon tableau à huile 100x81cm «Into the Final Straight» fait en 2020 a été sélectionnée par jury pour le Salon «Société des Artistes Français» dans le cadre de ART CAPITAL 2021 programmé du 10 au 14 février 2021. C'est un merveilleux début d'année 2021 après une année 2020 très difficile, surtout en tant qu'artiste peintre à l'huile émergente. C'est ma deuxième année pour soumettre ma candidature et la deuxième année mon œuvre d’art a été accepté par ce prestigieux jury pour cet incroyable événement d’art qui normalement se tient au Grand Palais (Paris). Malheureusement l’évènement n’aura pas lieu à cause de l’état d’urgence sanitaire qui a été prolongé jusqu’au 16 février 2021.  Toutefois, la Société des Artistes Français va présenter les œuvres d’art sélectionnées par leur jury pour le « Salon des Artistes Français » dans le catalogue virtuel diffusé en février 2021 sur leur site https://www.artistes-francais.com. [🇺🇸] Thrilled that my oil 100x81cm oil painting “Into the Final Straight” (2020) was jury-selected for the Salon “Société des Artistes Français” as part of ART CAPITAL 2021 (10-14 February 2021).  It is a wonderful start to 2021 following a very difficult 2020 especially as an emerging artist / oil painter. It is my second year to apply and the second year my work has been accepted by this prestigious jury for this incredible art event that is normally held in the Grand Palais (Paris).  Unfortunately, this big art event will not take place because of the state of emergency due to Covid has been extended to 16 February 2021. However, Société des Artistes Français will present the artwork selected by their jury for the « Salon des Artistes Français » in an online catalogue / gallery on their website (https://www.artistes-francais.com) in February 2021. There will also be a promotion of the online catalog / gallery on Instagram and Facebook.  Stay tuned for more information to come.

EOY 2020 Newsletter [ 🇫🇷 ]

2020 a été un an sans précédent. Cela nous a tous touchés de tant de manières différentes et profondes.  Du point de vue de l'art, les galeries d'art ont été contraintes de fermer et les expositions d'art ont été annulées avec deux confinements en France (de mi-mars au mi-mai et en novembre 2020). Les réseaux sociaux ont été très chargés en tant que les plateforms permettant aux artistes et aux galeries ont envie cherchent à rester en contact avec le monde. L'incertitude demeure et les doigts croisés pour le vaccin et l'avenir à partir de 2021.

L’autumn pour moi….

Les derniers événements d’art avant confinement 2.  

La Rentrée a commencé avec le 13-15 sept 2020 Art Show Paris VII a eu lieu dans le charmant Bastille Design Center (Paris, 75011). J'ai été ravi de recevoir deux prix : le Prix du Jury (médaille de bronze, technique de peinture centrée sur mon art équin) et le Prix du Public(médaille d'argent). J 'ai également eu l'opportunité de figurer dans le numéro 25 du magazine Art & Design Revue août-octobre 2020.

Ensuite, il y avait Le Petit Salon d’Octobre qui s’est tenu à la Galerie Thuillier juste en bas du musée Picasso du 9-22 octobre. La première présentation de mes œuvres dans le Marais (Paris 75003 quartier d’art).

Remporté 3 prix pour mes peintures de paysage / nature (novembre / décembre 2020): 

 Alors que nous entrions en confinement, je suis allée en ligne. Il me fait le plaisir de recevoir le prix de la «reconnaissance spéciale » pour mon triptyque de peinture à l'huile 2020 je faisais pendant le 1ere confinement de la plage de la Barbade «Chillin» dans le cadre du 10e exposition d'art annuelle en ligne «Paysages» de LightSpaceTime (novembre 2020). Cela a été suivi par la réception de 2 prix : le prix «Mérite spécial» pour ma peinture à l'huile d’Octobre 2020 «Whiteface» et le prix «Reconnaissance spéciale» pour une autre tableau à l'huile 2020 «Promenade Dominicale» a l’occasion du 10e exposition annuelle en ligne «Nature» LightSpaceTime (décembre 2020).  Les deux expositions en ligne avaient plus de 740 candidats de plus de 25 pays, dont plus de 30 États des États-Unis. 

Adhésion à Collectif Paard Verzameld et Mondial Art Academia.

J'ai été ravi d'être accepté au sein du Collectif Paard Verzameld, qui fait partie de la Galerie Paard Verzameld (Dutch for Équine Collection) fondée en 2016 par Joyce Ter Horst, conservatrice d'art équin et fondateur de Paard Verzameld (https://www.paardverzameldgallery.com). Le Collectif comprend plus de 100 artistes équins semi-professionnels et professionnels du monde entier qui servent de plateforme pour explorer, échanger et partager avec d'autres qui ont également une passion pour l'art et le monde équin.

J'ai également été heureux d'avoir été sélectionné par le jury pour être membre «Chevalier Academicienne» de Mondial Art Académia (http://www.mondialartacademia.com).

Quoi de neuf dans l'Atelier? 

Avec les événements artistiques, la famille, les chevaux, les chiens et les concours hippiques, mes pinceaux étaient un peu froids sauf pour la sortie du tableau « Whiteface ». Depuis confinement 2, je suis en pleine travail. Des nouvelles tableaux, je suis occupé au chevalet avec quelques peintures en cours.

Le plan début 2021?

Avec l'incertitude persistantes de Covid, certains événements d’art de janvier / février 2021 sont déjà annulés.  Je serai en plein travail dans mon atelier. Les nouvelles peintures à l'huiles en cours sont des tableaux de chevaux et de paysages qui sera publiés dès janvier 2021.  Les doigts se croisent pour vous voir à «Art et Matière Art Exhibition» (6-14 mars 2021, Saint-Pierre-Les-Nemours) et «Le Salon du Printemps» ( 16-29 Avril 2021,Galerie Thuillier, Marais, Paris 75003).

En espérant que la vie sera mieux en 2021.

2020 is not a year to forget. It has touched us all in so many different profound ways. From an art perspective, art galleries were forced to close and art shows cancelled with two confinements in France (mid March- mid May and November). Social media was abuzz as the platform for artists and galleries to connect with the world. Uncertainty remains and fingers crossed for the vaccine and the future from 2021.

A little bit as to what have I been up too ….

Last art events before Nov 2020 French lockdown 2

13-15 Sept 2020 Art Show Paris VII was held in the lovely Bastille Design Center (Paris, 75011). I was delighted to receive two awards: Jury Prize (bronze medal, painting technique focusing on my equine art) and the Public Prize (silver medal).  I also had the opportunity to be featured in the Art & Design Magazine Review Aug-Oct 2020 No. 25 issue. 

This was follow by 9-22 Oct Le Petit Salon d’Octobre  held at Galerie Thuillier  just down from the Picasso museum. A first time presenting my artwork in the Marais (Paris 75003 art quarter).  

3 art awards for my landscape / nature paintings (Nov / Dec 2020)

As we moved into confinement, I moved online. I was so pleased that my 2020 Barbados beachside oil painting triptyche  “Chillin’” received “Special Recognition” Award as part of the LightSpaceTime 10th Annual Online “Landscapes” Art Exhibition (Nov 2020). This was followed by receiving 2 awards: “Special Merit” Award for my October 2020 oil painting “Whiteface” and “Special Recognition” Award for my other 2020 oil painting “Promenade Dominicale” as part of the LightSpaceTime 10th Annual Online “Nature” Exhibition (Dec 2020).  Both online art competitions / exhibitions had over 740+ entries from 25+ countries including 30+ states in the USA.

Memberships with Paard Verzameld Collective and Mondial Art Academia

I was delighted to be accepted into the Paard Verzameld Collective, part of the Paard Verzameld Gallery (Dutch for Equine Collection) founded in 2016 by Joyce Ter Horst, Equine art curator & founder of Paard Verzameld (https://www.paardverzameldgallery.com). The Collective includes 100+ semi-professional and professional equine artists from around the world that serves as a platform to explore, exchange and share with others who equally have a passion for art and the equine world.  

I was also pleased to be jury-selected to become a “Chevalier Academicienne” member of Mondial Art Académia (http://www.mondialartacademia.com).

And in the Atelier?

With art events, family, horses, dogs and horse shows pre-lockdown 2, my paintbrushes were a bit cold other than the release of “Whiteface”. Since lockdown 2, I have been busy back at the easel with a few paintings in progress.

So what is next in early 2021?

With uncertainty due to continued Covid concerns, certain art events scheduled for January / February 2021 are already cancelled. I will be busy in my atelier working on some exciting new paintings, both equine art and landscapes oil paintings, that are scheduled for release early 2021. Fingers are crossed to see you at “Art et Matière Art Exhibition” (6-14 March 2021, Saint-Pierre-Les-Nemours) and “Le Salon du Printemps” (16-29 Avril 2021, Galerie Thuillier, Marais, Paris 75003).

Hoping we will all be in a better place in 2021.
